In the first chapter, actually not very related to other chapters. In this first chapter explains
more about the projects used to improve the quality of learning teaching in Criatia's higher
education. The name of the project is "the Educa-T". Well, the first chapter also explains more
about the success of the project. However there is little information that will relate to teacher
competence and also curriculum in higher education.
The third chapter, precisely in the competency section of a teacher, there is a section that
explains about the curriculum, and in the fourth chapter it is explained in detail about the
curriculum framework for higher education. Get to know the model of the curriculum, its
forms and existing courses, and there are also some sample questions that are included in the
fourth chapter. The essence of all the chapters in this book is that each chapter has a
relationship or link in the discussion. In the first chapter, the focus is more on projects already
in Croatia, and also a little explanation of the core of the contents of the book, while in the
second chaoter about the competencies of the teaching staff that must be possessed, and
subsequent dichapter also interconnected with the previous and subsequent chapters. And at
the end of the chapter returns to how to improve and develop teaching competencies and
Croatian higher education institutions.
From the content of the book, it can be seen that the development of competencies for
academic teaching in Indonesia is different from the education system in Croatia and other
European countries. In Croatia and other European countries they prioritize the development
of competencies of teachers, and maybe in Indonesia there are still some educational
institutions that are not too concerned with it and sometimes there are even educators who do
not want to develop their competencies. From the explanation contained in the book, there are
so many things that must be owned by a teacher in higher education, and for now, the quality of
education in Indonesia has gradually improved from the previous years.
Although in terms of teaching staff that is still far different from European countries, but it
is very good if to compete with other countries, especially in the Southeast Asian region. In
Indonesia alone the development of teaching programs began to become better. There are
several majors in lectures that even only exist in universities in Indonesia. Indonesia itself is
trying to develop programs in tertiary institutions in the middle of the digital era as it is today by
adjusting the existing curriculum.
Although Indonesia has not yet produced an idea or product such as "the Educa-T" owned
by Croatia, Indonesia is currently trying to develop programs and create a product to develop
and improve competencies for academic teaching in higher education.
