Check-in Conveyor

Introduction

The check-in conveyor is the interface between the passenger and the baggage handling system. It is
designed to ensure easy loading capacity.

It can be supplied as a one, two, three or four stage conveyor configuration.

Function

The check-in conveyor is designed to weigh baggage and dispatch it onto the collector conveyor without
the need for manual lifting.

Whilst there are standard configurations available, it is sufficiently flexible to accommodate variations in
height, length and width.
Daifuku ATec’s range of weigh, label, tub load and dispatch conveyors can be configured into one, two,
three or four stage check-in arrangements, i.e.

One stage Bags are weighed, labelled and then dispatched onto the collector conveyor
using a single weigh conveyor.
Two stage The weighing and labelling operations are carried out on a single conveyor and
bags are then dispatched via the induct conveyor onto the collector conveyor.
Three stage Separate conveyors are used for weighing, labelling and then dispatch of the
bags onto the collector conveyor.
Four stage Separate conveyors used for weighing, labelling, tub loading and then dispatch
of the bags onto the collector conveyor.

Technical Data

The check-in conveyors are finished in high quality stainless steel. As a standard they are designed to
eliminate trap points for passengers, operators, bag straps and labels. Safety gates may be fitted to the
weigh conveyors as a security measure, preventing passengers from entering the check-in areas when
the desks are closed.
