As we finish up our 7th week of school, my focus has turned to our student attendance.

So far, our daily attendance rates are strong, with an average of 98% of students in attendance,
yet some of our students are beginning to experience chronic absences and it is only October.
Upcoming Events: Poor student attendance and chronic tardies lead to a negative impact on student growth and
achievement, increase risks of high school dropouts and can influence whether or not a child is

Morning Drop Off
Please have your child ready to get out of the car when you
stop your vehicle in the morning. Many children are still putting
shoes on, finishing breakfast and gathering items needed for
the day. This holds up all of our families and our drop off line.

Calling All Dads! Watchdogs is kicking off!
Achieve's Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) Program is a family and community engagement educational initiative. There
are 2 primary goals of our Watchdog Program.
1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

We invite all Achieve fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures to sign-up to volunteer for at least one day each school
year as a WatchDOG. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with
students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they are actively
engage with not only their own students, but other students as well.

- On the top right link click on Parent Portal
- Log into your personal parent account
- On the left hand side click the Volunteer Link
- Scroll down and click on the Complete Form Link.
For Non Parent or Guardians:
- Go to the Achieve Charter Academy website
- On the top link headings hover on Beyond the Classroom
- Click on Volunteer
- Click on Sign Up to Volunteer
- Complete the Volunteer form and click Submit.

All participants need to bring their athletic forms and physicals along with gym shoes and gym clothes.
All participants MUST be picked up at the conclusion of their tryout. No siblings are permitted at tryouts.
Boys Varsity Basketball tryouts are not after school therefore all boys who wish to try out must go home and come back or be supervised by a
parent, guardian or teacher who chooses to be responsible for them after school.
