SPECIFICATION

BIOMASS-FULED GRAIN DRYER WITH RECIRCULATION OF HEATED AIR

TECHNICAL FIELD

5 The prototype is specifically designed to make use of heated air as a way of

evaporating the excess moisture content remaining in the grains. This machine
specifically uses rice husk to increase the air temperature inside the drying chamber.

BACKGROUND OF THE UTILITY MODEL

10 Newly harvested can only last a day or two, beyond that time frame the quality of
the palay can be considered as bad as reject. In the Philippines, one of the seasons makes
the process of sun drying impossible and considering the average yield of palay per year,
different machines are introduced to prevent production losses.

Every dryer has its own specifications that feature different advantages and
15disadvantages, mechanical dryers are currently available but most of it uses higher cost
method to achieve the same objective. A machine that use such simple means and can
draw the same results eliminates the downside of the other former designs.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring to figure 1 is a biomass-fueled grain dryer. This biomass-fueled grain

25dryer has a drying cabinet 1 provided with pairs of angle bar inside to hold trays. A
temperature gauge 2 fixedly attached on the said drying chamber 1. A chimney 3 fixedly

1
attached on said drying chamber 1. A plurality of airduct 4 fixedly connected at the back
of drying cabinet 1. A plurality of fans fixedly attached inside said airducts 4. A heat
container 6 fixedly attached to airducts 4. A furnace 7 connected below the heat container
6. A hopper 8 fixedly attached beside heat container and furnace 7. A chimney 9 fixedly
5attached on furnace 7. A frame 10 fixedly connected on the said drying cabinet 1 and
furnace 7. A plurality of wheel fixedly attached below said drying cabinet 1 and furnace
7.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

10 1. Prepare moisture content meter, weighing scale and data sheet.

2. Set up the machine for pre-heating.
3. Prepare the grains for testing.
4. Check the parameters while performing the testing.
5. Weigh dried grains for weighing analysis.
