2010.
The development of products is on-going; that is why vehicles and components manufactured after the date

The present workshop manual section defines the list of all the information items that make up a fault code
These fault codes can be read out either directly on the vehicle’s information display or more explicitly with the
aid of the diagnostic tool.

Scope
This manual is applicable to all RENAULT TRUCKS vehicles of new design.

Definition
Identification of the fault code
MID: Combined with a numerical value, it identifies an ECU.
PID: Combined with a numerical value, it identifies a unique parameter or a unique physical value. This value
is standardized (SE standard).
PPID: Combined with a numerical value, it identifies a unique parameter or a unique physical value. This value
is specific to the manufacturer.
SID: Combined with a numerical value, it identifies a unique component . This value is standardized (SE
standard).
PSID: Combined with a numerical value, it identifies a unique component. This value is specific to the
manufacturer.
FMI: Combined with a numerical value, it identifies a fault type. These faults are 16 in number and are
standardized (SE standard).

Make-up of a fault code:

A fault code is made up of:
– a "MID" code associated with a digital value to identify the ECU,
– a "PID" or "PPID" or "SID" or "PSID" code associated with a digital value to identify the origin,
– an "FMI" code associated with a digital value to identify the type of fault.
