Attitude For Success!

By: Jamie Owens

Chapter 10.1

Having a positive attitude, high-self esteem and enthusiasm in the

workplace or just in life is key. Here are important reasons on how
and why we should keep ourselves happy and confident.

Positive thinkers get along better with others

By keeping a positive attitude you are more

open and social with others. The energy
and/or vibe you bring will intrigue others
and more people will want to be around
you.

Comfortable Confidence

When one is positive, and confident, others

will tend to be more comfortable around
them. The lack of negativity makes for a
peaceful environment that people will be
comfortable in.

The Positive Problem Solver

When you think positively, you elevate your mood. When your
mood is elevated, you tend to make better decisions. You can solve
issues and problems more efficiently. It's like a cycle. The better
your mood, the more effective your decisions, the more effective
your decisions, the better your mood.

"Goal Getter"

By having a positive attitude, you develop a

desire to get things done and reach your
Dream Set
goals. Your level of motivation gets higher,
Big! Goa
and you take action. You will reach your ls !
goals and feel good about doing so.

Happy and Healthy

Pessimistic students get sick twice as often as optimistic ones.

When you are positive and up beat, you make good decisions. Good
decisions include eating well, getting a good night sleep or even
getting some exercise.

Optimistic Operations

You can promote positive thoughts by taking positive actions.

Instead of filling your head with negative ideas, take action and go
out and do something good. Either it be laughing with your friends
or watching a movie. By doing that, you're free of the negative
thoughts holding you back and you can go on to do things that make
you happy.

Sanguine Surroundings

Keeping yourself surrounded by positive energy is so important. Typically

when you are around your group of friends, you gravitate to their
personalities or vibes. If their vibes are peaceful and good, then you will
also be positive and have a nice time. Don't surround yourself with
pessimistic energy, it will only damper your mood and make for a
desolate day.

Developing Self-Esteem

Chapter 10.1

Developing self-esteem is not only important when working, but in

everyday life as well. By showing your confidence in yourself and
your ideas, you're showing everyone that you have self-esteem.

Cheerful Reminders

When having a positive mindset, you should always be positive

towards yourself. Don't put yourself down while lifting everyone
else up. By simply just reminding yourself your good traits, you will
be more confident in yourself and will heighten your self-esteem.

Ways to remind yourself of your amazing appearance and

abilities

- Write yourself a positive note and look at it time

to time when you need a pick-me-up.

- List your accomplishments to remind yourself of what you've

done and what you are capable of doing.

- Healing your past with others can be very effective. By

apologizing or making it up to someone, you are being the better
person and reminding yourself you can change.

Confident Communication

Present your ideas positively, without apologizing. You will be

showing others you have confidence in your ideas and answers.
You too will feel sure of oneself, and go on to spread your self-
esteem and ideas.

Effective Enthusiasm

It is so easy to have enthusiasm when you are doing something you

love. Your passion brings out the best in you. Some days it might
not, and that's perfectly okay. Instead of letting that ruin your
mood, try acting enthusiastic and stay positive. Things are bound to
go right eventually if you just keep your enthusiasm and good
attitude.

"Happy Little Accidents"

Everyone makes mistakes. In the words of Bob Ross, we make

"Happy little accidents". Our failure is what sets us up for success.
Although it is important for you to remember your mistakes, don't
hold them against you. Your mistakes dont define you. Never let
your past failures be what cause you to lower your self-esteem.
Learn from what you did wrong so you can better yourself for the
future.
The Importance of Self-Esteem

Some of it may sound silly. Like the writing yourself notes, or

the "Happy little accidents". Though, keeping your self-esteem
is crucial. It's the way you feel about yourself. If you put
yourself down and fill your mind with negative thoughts, you're
only driving yourself down a road of sadness. Nobody should do
that willingly. Always remember and make sure to keep your
self-esteem at a moderate level. It's important to your well Citation:

being.
