CENTRE NAME- Nabab Pur ICDS Cntre, No- 112

ADDRESS- Nababpur, School para, Rajar hat

INRODUCTION: currently the most important scheme in the field of child welfare is ICDS scheme.
The blue print for the scheme was prepared by the department of social welfare in 1975 and
project was sanctioned on October 1957. Providing supplementary nutrition was the responsibility
of the state and administrative cist was provided by central government. Govt. Of india has
modified the cost sharing pattern under ICDS by giving aid of 50% financial expenditure of state.

OBJECTIVES:

 To observe the physical set up of ICDS.


 to gain knowledge on the function of central.
 to know the type of food served by ICDS
 to know the type of formal and non- formal education providing by ICDS.

Supplementary food supplied by ICDS are :

 For antenatal mother: chhatu with sugar, banana, grapes, 100 gm plain rice, 20 gm pulses, boiled
egg 1 piece
 For children: rice 60 gm, boiled egg, pulses, vegetables, fruits
 Monday, Wednesday, Friday : plain rice, curry with egg and other vegetables, pulses
 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: chhatu, bananas/ grapes, khichdi, half piece boiled egg

Educational activities done in ICDS:

 Prayer.
 Hygienic habit formation.
 Rhymes and story telling.
 Alphabet learning, number identification, simple addition, subtraction
 Supply slate pencils
 Medicines supplied by ICDS are as follows:
 Vitamin A oil
 Cough syrup
 IFA tablets

CONCLUSION: - over the years ICDS programme has grown into one of the largest integrated family
and community welfare schemes in the world. This centre provides care 1100 population. Mother & child
-113, 0-5 year’s children 93 & antenatal mother 8.They all are availed the ICDS services.
