AFPM Online E-Learning Management System (E-LMS)

(a) Launch your internet browser (supported Chrome v36+, Firefox v31+, Internet Explorer v11+) and at the
URL, type the following domain address; afpm.org.my and hit the Enter key.

(b) The browser will open the AFPM official website where you may point your mouse pointer to the New
AFPM eLearning icon display at the top right corner and click the link that will launch the E-LMS. The E-LMS
page display AFPM eLearning Portal and click Login button to open the Login page.

AFPM E-LMS Login

(a) The login page will display Username & Password textboxes where you must key in the appropriate given
Username and Password that will be notified via e-mail by the AFPM E-LMS System Administrator (En. Saufi
Omar). Should you fail to receive the e-mail notification, check you SPAM folder FIRST and your INBOX
before contacting AFPM E-LMS System Administrator.

(b) The AFPM E-Learning Portal dashboard display My Courses upon candidate login as shown below;

My Courses

(a) Candidate may click on menu link My Courses in order to view the form page content as shown below. The
content of My Courses that links to various functionalities are (i) Profile (ii) Preferences (iii) Grades (iv) Log
out

(b) Candidate may click on menu link of Profile, the form navigates and displays Edit Profile. The Edit Profile
feature enables the candidate to edit and update modification.

(c) The Edit Profile menu link opens a Form that display the following sub-menu links as shown below. For best
practice, it is recommended for the candidate to click menu link User Picture and upload the picture file so
that the Mentors, Module Writers and fellow course mates may able to recognize by physical appearance
for better correspondence.

(d) In order to update and save the profile settings, you must to click by using the Update profile button.

(e) The Preferences display the list of features that inclusive of change password. The Change password menu
link enables the candidate to change password it is necessary for security purposes.

(f) Should the candidate decide to change the present password, the candidate must key in current password
and follow by the new password and re-type the new password (again). To update the changes, click Save
changes button.

Alerts & Notifications

The notification listings that is shown on the right pane are (i) Deadlines (ii) Feedback (iii) Messages

(a) Deadlines

The Mentors are responsible to assign assignments and quizzes to the candidates. The due date of the
assignments and quizzes will be notified to the candidates via calendar and can be viewed by clicking the menu
link View my calendar.

(b) Feedback

The assignments and quizzes that have been graded by the respective Mentor will be listed accordingly. The
candidates may view the grade by clicking the menu link View my feedback.

(c) Messages

The instant messages that have been sent by Mentors and course mates will be listed accordingly and the
candidates may able to read and reply respectively it by clicking the menu link View my messages.

(d) Alerts *

The term ‘Alerts’ is refers to responses received on Coursework, Assignments, Grades, Messages, Forum and
Feedback.

Course Module

A Module’s consist of learning objective, course materials, learning activities that inclusive of the following
attributes such as (i) Assignment [Key Feature Problem (KFP)] (ii) Assessment [Applied Knowledge Test (AKT)]

Assignment

(a) To view the assignment, the candidate may click on the menu link Assignment that opens a Form and
display the following attributes e.g. Assignment 01 and the Due date.

New Assignment

(b) The candidate may able to view status of assignments, e.g. click on the link Assignment 01 that shows the
status of Submission status and Grading status that denote as Submitted and Graded as shown below;

(c) In order to attempt a new Assignment, the candidate must ensure that the Due date button is highlighted in
green color as shown in below;

(d) The E-LMS system allow the candidate to attempt the new Assignment with a click on the menu link e.g.
Assignment 02 provision to the Due date button is flagged as green.

(e) The candidate may continue to further edit the assignment by clicking on the Edit submission button and
Save as draft for further continuation on later. The candidate shall click on Submit assignment button if
decided to proceed to end the assignment for final submission as shown below;

(f) The candidate may able to start typing the assignment by using the Online text editor and click Save
changes button to save as draft before final submission. Candidate may attach documents by using the using
the File submission as shown as below;

(g) Upon Save changes, the candidate may able to notice at Online text area where the introduction sentence
(The symptom of dengue is..) of the assignment as shown above;

(h) The candidates who wish to proceed for final submission upon completion of the assignment may do so with
a click on the Submit assignment button. Submit assignment form opens a Form and display the Continue
button to click to proceed. Please take note that all assignments that have been submitted for grading
cannot be reverted.

Assessment

(i) The candidate may able to attempt the new Assessment (Quiz) by clicking on the link e.g. Assessments
Questions as shown below;

(j) Candidates may click on the button Attempt quiz now to proceed to begin assessment quiz as shown below;

(k) The candidate may click the button Start attempt (as shown below) to start the quiz. Once the quiz is
started, the candidate is not able to stop/pause the time limit set for the quiz. However, if the
computer/notebook shutdown or experience network disconnection issue then the time limit set will
resume upon continue of login.

Course Dashboard

(l) Candidate may review the overall status of the course by click the Course Dashboard where the candidate
can send messages between course mates or Mentor by clicking the Participant as shown below;

(m) The icon that displays Participants link lists out all the course recipients (mates) and candidate require to
click on the Message link in order to compose the message.

(n) The candidate may select (left pane) other course recipients and click on the Write a message field in order
to and click Send link to send the message. The message compose of does not allow file attachment.

(o) Candidate may able to view the message notification (right pane) from other course mates or Mentor upon
clicking My Courses link and as displays as below;

The Summary

The AFPM E-Learning Portal is customized to fit and accommodate the standard learning and assessment process
via online. All learning materials and course modules are discrete and propitiatory of the Academy of Family
Physician of Malaysia.
