ARNIS

ARNIS – Is a native sport and martial art principally designed for defense involving the systematically
effective, artistically intricate but highly deadly movements and manipulation of hardened rattan,
cane or bolo or some other long bladed weapons.

- Is a deadly form of original Filipino Martial Arts; it is a weapon based self-defense which
basically uses the rattan sticks as the primary weapon and as an extension of the hands to maximize
reach and power.

Anyo – Is the demonstration of artistic choreographed pre-arranged step of movements offensive and
defensive using sticks, wooden replica of bladed weapon or metallic un bladed weapon.

Courtesy – is an act of paying respect to fellow practitioner, masters,


guros, coach/teacher and even opponent.

Grip – Is the soul of all fighting techniques in arnis

Principle in Arnis that the students must remember:
