works??

Boy: uhmm I think I knew it.

Boy: ahhh for what i have read it is a circular model.

Girl: So what about the circular model? How does this model works??

Boy: It can happen within our self or two people; each person acts as both sender and receiver and
hence use interpretation. Just like now we are talking to each other you were asking questions wich I
interperet then I am giving a feedback which is a answer to your question.

Girl: ohh so it is like a one on one conversation. Amazinggg

Boy:uhmm further more why are you asking me this kind of questions??

Girl: Uhh do you know the advateges and disadvantages of the osgood schramm model??

Boy: Base on one webpage that I have visited last week Advantage of Osgood- Schramm model of
communication 1.Dynamic model- Shows how a situation can change 2.It shows why redundancy is an
essential part 3.There is no separate sender and receiver, sender and receiver is the same person 4.
Assume communication to be circular in nature 5. Feedback – central feature. Disadvantage of Osgood-
Schramm model of communication 1.This model does not talk about semantic noise and it assume the
moment of encoding and decoding.

Girl: ohhh That information could really help me. Thank you.

Boy: No problem.

(School bell rings).

Girl: ohh its time to say goodbye see you later after classes

Boy: Alrigth goodbye

Chapter Summary
Human beings are poor communicators but our communicative competence can be improved by
learning and practising effective communication skills.

Communication has a symbolic nature and is an act of sharing one’s ideas, emotions, attitudes, or
perceptions with another person or group of persons through words (written or spoken), gestures,
signals, signs, or other modes of transmitting images. The transmission of ideas always encounters
barriers that reduce its effectiveness.

The essential elements of the process of communication are the message, the sender, encoding, the
channel, the receiver, decoding, acting on the message, the feedback, and the communication
environment.
