 ABOUT IIT BHILAI
Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) was
established in the state of Chhattisgarh by Ministry of
Human Resource and Development in the year 2016. IIT
Bhilai is presently housed in its transit campus at
Government Engineering College (GEC) Raipur,
Chhattisgarh.
IIT Bhilai offers Bachelors of Technology (BTech),
Masters of Technology (MTech) and Doctoral programs
(PhD) in various disciplines. The Institute made its
modest start with introduction of BTech program in
August 2016. The Institute is currently offering BTech and
MTech programs in the Department of Computer Science
and Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering (EE) and
Mechanical Engineering (ME); and PhD program in the
Department of Chemistry (CY), Computer Science and
Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering
Mathematics (MA), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and
Physics (PH).

analysis, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and
heat transfer, design and manufacturing etc.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Foundations
of Thermal and Fluid Engineering aims to inculcate and
enhance the teaching and learning abilities of the faculty
members who are involved in teaching the subjects like
Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Internal
Combustion Engines, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning,
Power Plant Engineering etc. Lectures on fundamental
understanding of the above mentioned topics will be
conducted by the experts along with some hands-on
practices which enable participants to grasp the content
methodologically.
OBJECTIVE
The broader objective of the program is to improve the
fundamental understanding of the faculty member working
with CSVTU in the field of thermal and fluid engineering.
(EE), This will help in improving the quality of faculty in turn to
benefit the students. This activity comprehensively improve
the quality of human resource for further research and
teaching.
COURSE CONTENT
• Fundamentals of Thermodynamics

• Some Hands-on Practices
REGISTRATION
• There is no registration fee.
• Participants can apply for registration in prescribed
format by submitting filled hard copy or mailing the scan
copy of filled form to the mail id of the institute
Coordinator.
• Necessary lab consumables and equipment will be
arranged by FDP committee for practical sessions
• Seats are limited and preference will be given to
participants on first come - first serve basis.
• Aaccommodation will be provided for the night of 17th-20th
Sep. 2019. No accommodation for the night of 16th and
21st Sep. Accommodation will be AC shared room in
Raipur city.
• Registration kit will provided during session break.
• On the spot registration will be provided only if the seats
are left vacant.
• Travel for training venue (IIT Bhilai, GEC Campus) to
Hotel and back shall be arranged.
• Breakfast (17th Sep to 21st Sep) and dinner (17th Sep to
20th Sep) will be served at the hotel, arranged by the FDP
committee. Working lunch and evening snacks (17th Sep
to 21st Sep) will be arranged at the training venue.
• Certificate will be provided only upon attending all 5 days
of workshop.
