I correspond with the way you have designated your understanding of the benefits of the
Myers-Brigg Type Indicator (MBTI) in helping people to realize their true personalities. It
evident that taking MBTI test aids a big number of the populace to recognize what they
can do best in life, as you have said upon your completion of MBTI test you appreciated
that you had a ‘Defender’ personality as well as hardworking and analytical which
concurred with your field of career (Nursing). Furthermore, I concur with you in the aspect
of using the MBTI test for personality should not be used for the employment-based test
without a detailed assessment of the instrument’s quality, validity, and reliability. This is
clear from your review that there were some inaccuracies noted and it would be even
more precise if you indicated the exact imprecisions that you noted from the test. I believe
this evaluation does not have merits in the sector of employment, for instances where
there are inaccuracies like you said. From my point of view, every instrument has its
merits and demerits, and it is up to the employer to decide whether to use the MBTI
personality test method or not. Otherwise, it is true Lana that self-awareness is the
takeaway from this kind of assessment.
