BARANGAY SUN VALLEY PROFILE

PHYSICAL FEATURES
Barangay Sun Valley is located on the eastern boundaries of Km. 12 to Km. 17, West
Service Road, South Super Highway, Paranaque City. It has an area of 177.75 hectares.
Barangay Sun Valley comprises some 32 subdivisions, satellite villages, compounds, and
puroks. The Barangay Sun Valley is the home base of many businesses, big and small. These
firms and others employ hundreds of residents. These companies also go out of their way to
extend help and assistance to the barangay which they call home.

HISTORY

Our community was originally a part of Barrio La Huerta, Municipality of Paranaque. In

1978, President Ferdinand E. Marcos issued a presidential decree converting all barrios in the
country into barangays. Thus Paranaque was divided into 16 barangays. Barangay Sun Valley is
one of them.
Our Barangay was is named after its biggest subdivision, Sun Valley Subdivision. In
September 1989, Municipal Mayor Hon. Walfredo N. Ferrer certified that “All areas at the Northern
part of Dona Soledad Avenue from Better Living Subd. 1 to the South Super Highway are under
the jurisdiction of Barangay Sun Valley” to clarify the definite boundary of Barangay Sun Valley.

VISION / MISSION

Vision Statement: We see Barangay Sun Valley as a united community peacefully living as
one, cooperating with and helping one another.

Mission Statement: To enhance social responsibility among the inhabitants of Barangay Sun
Valley through good governance.
1. Pagkakaisa, hindi kanya-kanya (Unity in Diversity-Respect all legal and moral decisions of
the majority).
2. Pagmamahalan, walang siraan (Relationship based on love and affirmation, no hate and
condemnation).
3. Serbisyo sa Tao, hindi sa sarili ko (Service to community not only to myself).
4. Bigay hanapbuhay, hindi buhay bulsa ko (Livelihood for the needy, not for our own
enrichment).
5. Pangkalahatan hindi para sa iilan (Benefit of the majority, not for a few - focus on
enablers).
6. Nakasentro sa Diyos at serbisyo sa tao (God centered service - Always in the service to
both God and Man).
7. Lagay sa tama, hindi sa sala (Upholding the truth, opposing the untrue).
8. Edukasyon ng kabataan, pangangalagaan (Education of the youth as primary enabler)
9. Serbisyong Tapat) Para Sa Lahat (Service faithful to everyone)
