INTRODUCTION
This document presents the USB interface software with several tools that permit to control,
program and get information from the Fermator controllers.

SETTINGS
Install the USB driver CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7.exe, it will create a virtual serial
port in Windows which configuration can be seen in the Device Manager.
To acces to the Device Manager press:
Windows Key + Pause/Inter
Pressing this keys the system properties window will appear, then select the Device Manager
and configure the port as shown in the figure.
COM-LPT (windows)
Note: The port number assignment is automatic, in the case that is higher than which can be
selected from the application WinConsola, it can be modified manually (Port
configurationadvanced options).
To configure the port in the WinConsola execute the Settings menu.
Select the Language, the serial COM port where the interface is connected to the computer,
and the communication baud rate. Once configured execute the Run command.
If the communication is not well established a window advise will be shown:

If communication is established correctly the application will enable the menus as shown in the
image below.
The menus can be selected from the menu bar or from the toolbar, when a communication is
established a log bar is created that shows information about the device at internal level.

CONSOLE MENU
With the console three main objectives can be achieved:

1.-To see the value of the VVVF parameters and options.
2.-To detect possible errors in the system and the signals
coming from the lift controller.
3.-To modify the internal program parameters changing the
different opening and closing movement curves.
Connect the programming tool to the VVVF “SERIAL PORT” connection (#13,14,15,16).
The green 4 pole connector is to connect to the VVVF3 and VVVF4.
The phone jack connector (RJ-11) is to connect to the VVVF5.
Once the tool is connected it is supplied by the VVVF and it will show its software version
Fermator VVVF and the Software release of the VVVF connected to Fermator VVVF
Vers. 127 . 5010 .
There are 2 main menus TEST and PROG menus with different submenus depending on the
VVVF version.
The submenus are available pressing TEST or PROG key only with the VVVF-5, with older
versions the variables are in the main menu.

To select the submenu press the ENTER key and pressing this key the next parameter will be
shown.
The different options and variables are explained in the next pages.
Pressing the keys the screen will show the safety force of the
programmed re-opening function in case of obstruction reflected in a scale from 4 to 15.

The TEST menu
Press or to move up/down parameters by parameter.
SUPPLY VOLTAJE 230V

This indicates the rectified voltage supply, and it informs if the protection fuse is blown.
MOTOR CURRENT It will show the motor current.

ACTIVE ALARM Alarm code if an error is detected. The alarm code references are:
00 - 1- Driver 2- Bl.Open 4- Bl.Close 8- Friction 16- Temperature 32- Autoadjust 64- Encoder
DOOR POSITION Door position in centimeters from the closed door position. So, when
0 the door is opened it will show the clear entrance.
(Clear entrance plus 7 pulses if the door has a skate for automatic landing door. For example a
door with a clear opening of 800mm will show 87 pulses with the door opened.)
It is useful to check the encoder performance.
TEST PHOTOCELL It informs about the photocell status.

It must be the same as the DIP-switch programmed. If not, there must be a problem with the
component, the socket connection or the control.
From left to right, the information offered is the following:

INPUTS It shows if the control inputs connected to the VVVF are activated or not.
0100 0000 “0” if input not activated (OFF) and “1” if activated (ON).
By means this screen we can check if the door operator works correctly with the lift controller.
From left to right, the information offered is:
Close Open Re-open Test Encoder Slow closing Floor level Autoadjustment
OUTPUTS It shows if any output of the VVVF is activated.

PHOTOCELL FAULT No. times the photocell has been obstructed more than 2 minutes.
BLOCKAGE CYCLES No. times the door has been blocked at opening.
The next field are only activated for the VVVF-4 control version:
TEMPERATURE Temperature in the VVVF power rectified area (ºC).

COMP. CLOSE Close compensation factor of the adaptive process.
COMP. OPEN Open compensation factor of the adaptive process.
SUPPLIER CODE Supplier identification code.
SERIAL NUMBER Identification serial number for each unit.
To identify every unit it is needed the supplier code/Serial number Ex. 1/125008.
HARDWARE Hardware version of the VVVF control
VERSION
LOT REFERENCE Lot number identification.
LEARN CYCLES No. learning cycles made by pressing the autoadjustment button.
REOPEN CYCLES No. re-open cycles.
HOURS No. working hours.
No.MAIN FAULTS No. connections to the mains supply or blackouts suffered.
No.OVERTEMPERAT No. overtemperature protection activated (Active if T>74ºC).

FRICTION Friction value detected when making the autoadjustment function.
CLEAR OPENING N-1 Clear entrance detected one autoadjustment before.

CLEAR OPENING N-2 Clear entrance detected two autoadjustments before.

The PROG menu Press ENTER to access the next parameter and or
keys to change the VALUES or go back to the previous parameter.
Some parameters and options are only available with some software versions as they
did not exist previously.

We recommend to do not modify these 3 parameters without clear comprehension
about their influence.
These 3 parameters does not exist when a VVVF-PM Motor is used.
HOLD TORQUE OPEN 045 The voltage applied to the motor to keep the door opened. (V)
Change this value just enough to maintain the door in opened position.
H. TORQUE CLOSE 045 The voltage applied to the motor to keep the door closed. (V)
OPENSKATE SPEED100 The speed applied to the motor at opening. (Up to 200 mm/s).
LENGTH SKATE 007 The required space to open the skate. (in cm)
GEAR RATIO 10:N 10 Gear ratio when special cogged pulley is used
(Ratio in tenths 10 = 1:1)

OPTIONS 1
PHOTOCELL TIMER This bit enables or disables the Photocell Timer timeout
performance.
HK FIREFIGHTING Firefighting mode in some countries to run in slave mode in the
startup.
2 MOTORS Special conditions for 2 motors door system.
ROBUSTA DOOR Special conditions for special heavy doors.
CLOSE PRIORITY Priority at closing if open and close signals applied at the same
time.
COMPACT REDUCT Special conditions for a Compact door system with reduction gear.
ALJO OPTION Special conditions for ALJO systems (Advanced Logic Joint
Operation).
PARKING MODE Activates the parking mode with door closed (no motor force).
OPTIONS 2
V-30F Activates the V-30F mode with signals de-activated with voltage.
CE8P Activates the reduced opening with emergency voltage.
NC REOPEN INPUT Reopen input (#21) with Normally Closed contact to activate it.
CYCLES LAST T.S. Protection of the voltage parameters against automatic changes.
LB DOOR Special conditions for Linear Bus door system.
125V DOOR Special conditions for door system supplied to 125V.
USA Activates the special software functions according to USA norms.
CAR LOCK Activates the special conditions when car door lock is
detected(TEC4047 and newer)
EUNAP Activates the unified software for SCH door systems in EU, NA and
AP (TEC4047)
LAST ALARM Code of the last alarm activated (see codes in TEST MENU).
MOTOR PM Activates the special control software for door systems with the
synchronous Permanent Magnet motor (only VVVF5).
PROTECTION It protects the modified parameters.

NO : means that a new auto adjustment would automatically bring back all the standard parameters adjusted
with the door, losing all the modifications done with the console.
PARTIAL : this protection will only protect the energy parameters not the movement ones.
FULL : to save all the modifications.
Remember that you have to protect the modified parameters against the autoadjustment function that
will establish the standard ones for the type of door.
SAVE YES / NO It saves the changed parameter values.
VVVF5: The voltage parameters values are in Volts=Value/10.

There are different possibilities depending on the doors weight, number of motors, mechanical conditions,
skate modifications, etc. The particular conditions could lead to small modifications in the standard
parameters.

With the list three main objectives can be achieved:

1.-To see the value of the VVVF parameters and options.
2.-To detect possible errors in the system and the signals
coming from the lift controller.
3.-To modify the internal program parameters changing the
different opening and closing movement curves.
Their value can be changed clicking on it directly.

Then possible range is shown.
The big difference with the Console menu is that the

parameters are displayed in a list, this facilitates a better
comfort to consult or modify parameters.
OPTION MENU
It informs about the active options.
It also permits to Enable or Disable each one.
Some of them could be unavailable depending on the software

version of the VVVF, so they will appear as not selectable.
SERIAL MENU
This feature offers the possibility to control the door by the

serial communication port.
The program sends the proper codes for every selected signal
when the CONTROL bit is activated. This part of the PC
Console program just shows how it works this protocol.
The serial control is an open protocol that offers the possibility

to control everything (inputs signal activation, output reading,
internal memory information reading, …) just by 4 wires.
To get the control it have to be enabled, active the control bit
and active the control order:
Open, close, reopen or forced closing (slow close).

GRAPHIC MENU
This feature provides the possibility to show graphically the

speed ramps and tension ramps of the circuit.
Modifying the programming parameters the changes that

occur can be observed in the graphic.
CONNECT MENU
The program provides the possibility to connect remotely

through a server, to implement that function run the
application ServerWinVVVF.exe. Then select the local
computer's serial port and configure a port for the connecting
Network.
The server will show the IP address which is the same that
have to be configured in the Menu Connect with the computer
port.
