I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, learners are expected to:
A. react to posts status on Facebook using emojis;
B. converse about the purposes of writing a reaction paper through;
C. write a short reaction paper on certain events; and
D. reflect on how students came out of certain reactions through reasoning.

II. . SUBJECT MATTER


A. Topic: Introduction on Writing Reaction Paper
B. References: English For Academic and Professional Purposes 2018, Phoenix Publishing
House, Inc. pp. 19-23
C. Materials: Projector, Laptop and Regular teaching tools

III. LEARNING PROCEDURES

A. Activity
TASK 1: CLICK and REACT
Directions:
1. Students will be grouped into THREE groups. Everybody is expected
to be in their group within the count of ten.
2. The teacher will post different Facebook posts from different
people on social media.
3. Seeing the posts, students will give their reactions using the emojis
of Facebook (like, love, haha, wow, sad and angry)
4. Students will give their comments based on their reactions.
5. Five minutes in allotted for the activity.

B. Analysis
TASK 2: BRAINSTORMING
Based from the motivation, the students will fill out the following activity sheets about
the meaning, purposes and forms of reaction paper. After which the teacher will
facilitate the discussion. Ten minutes is allotted for the activity.

C. Abstraction
Students will reflect why they reacted on certain things using the following guide
questions.
TASK 3: TAKING FLIGHT
GROUP 1:
 What do you usually use as bases for reactions?
GROUP 2:
 Was it easy to generate reactions on the pictures? Why do you think so?
GROUP 3:
 Is there any importance of reaction paper? How?

D. Application:
TASK 4: SAILING
Looking at the following pictures, students will write their first reactions that come
into their minds observing purposes.
IV. EVALUATION
TASK 5: WRITING REACTION PAPER

Think of the latest event in your school. Following format on writing a reaction paper
for cultural affairs, work and performances, write short reaction paper on that
event. Ten minutes will be allotted for the activity

TASK 6: PAIR WORK


Find a partner and exchange paper with him/her. Using the assessment guide
below, evaluate your partner’s paper by putting the appropriate symbol under the
column on assessment. Include a concise qualitative assessment to assist your
partner in improving his/her and/or to let him/her know the positive aspect/s of
his/her reaction paper.

V. ASSIGNMENT
TASK 6: Find an article that is a reaction to the topic agreed upon by the class as
the most relevant social issue at present. Assess the paper using the same rubric
used in task 5.
