JOB SEARCH PORTAL

AIM:
To Analyze the Problems, Gather the SRS (Software Requirements Specification) for
"online job search portal".

PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Job Search Portal is a web application, which serves jobseekers to find available job
vacancies and Employers to identify eligible job seekers with the prospect of selecting the most
qualified candidates. This system must provide a option for Job Seeker logging into the system
and he can be able to upload their information and can be able to search the jobs based on their
interests. Visitors/Company representatives logging in may also access/search any information
put up by Job Seeker. A database must be maintained to keep the details of job seeker who had
applied for the jobs .

1. INTRODUCTION
The Job Search portal is the application which allows Job seekers to find the job vacancies and
Recruiters to identify eligible job seekers with the prospect of selecting the most qualified
candidates.

1.1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to present a detailed description of the Job Search system. It
will explain the purpose and features of the system, the interfaces of the system, what the
system will do, the constraints under which it must operate and how the system will react to
external stimuli.

1.2 SCOPE
The Job portal holds an online interface with its user to provide a job based on their interest and
intelligence. Each member is provided with a unique user id at the time of registering as a user.

1.3 DOCUMENT CONVENTIONS


· Admin: The Recruiters who provide the job and upload the job information.
· Member: Any person who registers with the job search portal.
· HTML-Hyper Text Markup Language used to create web page.

2. OVERALL DESCRIPTION

2.1 PRODUCT PERSPECTIVE


The system provides jobs catalog and information to members and help them to decide on a
jobs to apply .The admin can keep the jobs catalog updated all the time. So that the members
(job seekers) get updated information all the time. The main users are Admin (Recruiters),
Members who are the Job seekers and the agencies.

2.2 PRODUCT FUNCTIONS


This system functions with a database at the back end, to provide a job to the job seekers based
on their interest and intelligence and to provide a platform to the admin to upload the job
information, and also its available resources. Every user who is a member needs only a web
browser to connect to this system.

3.1 HARDWARE INTERFACES


The system should have good hardware support. The processor should have high speed and
must be of high efficiency.

The system uses ODBC drive to connect and control the database.

4.1.1 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION & PRIORITY


Allows a job seeker, who becomes a member by login using a unique id issued at the time of
registering as a member, and after logging in, the member can browse through available jobs
and make requests accordingly. The jobs will be displayed based on their interest and
intelligence.

4.1.2 STIMULUS/RESPONSE SEQUENCE


Whenever the job seeker decides to apply for the job their request is taken and a job request is
applied and a notification will be delivered or if he/she wants to save a jobs then a new jobs
similar to saved one will be displayed.

4.1.3 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS


JOB SEEKER:
The requirements are registration ,login ,forgot password options, search jobs , apply for the
jobs, save jobs, add cv , edit, create or delete cv.

RECRUITERS:
The requirements are registration ,login ,forgot password options, add a new job, search resume,
information on number of vacancy, search, view or download resume.

ADMINISTRATOR:
The requirements are manage job seeker and recruiters module, send notification message to job
seekers and recruiters, categorization of jobs , apply restriction on job posting, resume, display
recent jobs on homepage.

5. OTHER NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

5.1 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS


The web interface should be able to support multiple users trying to log in simultaneously.

5.2 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS


The details should be made available in the database and must be updated every time when the
job seekers apply for jobs or save jobs or when a new job is provided by the recruiters.

5.3 SECURITY REQUIREMENTS


Secure access of confidential data by user name and password. This application is secure for
every kind of its users because if any user log out from any session the nobody will able to
access his account. Password recovery system is also provided incase of forgetting the
password.
