THESIS-1
SYNOPSIS
Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center

The complex design of the drug addiction rehabilitation center goes through many layers
starting from the individual to the physical structure. A solid understanding of the
phenomenon of addiction and its psychological, biological, and social dimensions is essential
in relating to drug addiction victims and creating a suitable environment to heal them. To
succeed in the design of the rehabilitation center, the architect should understand the
mentality of drug addicts and try to walk in their shoes and get in touch with their
circumstances, feelings, and agony. Moreover, the design of a drug addiction rehabilitation
facility requires a deep understanding of the medical process of the treatment, and at last; the
thorough study of rehabilitation centers as a building type and its architectural dissection of
its functions, codes, standards, and regulations.
