“Thumbelina”

There once was a woman named Greta. She had a beautiful flower garden but she
would always be very sad. She never dreamed of wealth but, she would always wish
she had a child. It was her one and only wish. Only then, Greta would be happy.
One day, she heard there was a woman nearby her house that could do magic with
just the cost of a few pennies. She went to that house and surprisingly, the woman
already knew Greta’s name. She hasn’t even finished introducing herself. The
woman knew what Greta wanted. She gave greta a magic seed. She was so excited,
she was smiling on the way home.
When she arrived at home, she planted the magic seed in rich, brown soil from the
garden. It didn’t take much time for the magic to work. Soon enough, a flower grew
from the pot. Inside the flower, there was a little girl. Greta finally got her wish. She
named the girl Thumbelina. She loved Thumbelina so much. She prepared a special
bed for her and went to sleep.
During the night, an ugly toad stole her so she could marry the toad’s son. She didn’t
want to marry him. Because every animal hated the toads, they tried to help
Thumbelina as much as possible so that she doesn’t have to live with those toads.
She ran and ran and found a house of a mice family. The mice let her stay there for
quite a bit. Thumbelina was like a daughter they never had. Thumbelina had so
much fun as she gets to sing with the singing birds during spring and look at the
beautiful flowers.
When Thumbelina was sweeping the floor and singing, someone knocked the door.
It was a mouse that heard Thumbelina’s singing. He wanted to marry Thumbelina as
he never heard such a beautiful voice before. His name was Mister Mole. The mice
family was over the moon about it. Mister Mole’s house was twice their size. He was
rich and wise. But Mister Mole lived underground, which means Thumbelina wouldn’t
get to see the spring birds or even look at the flowers anymore. Thumbelina didn’t
want to marry Mister Mole but the mice didn’t care. On the way to Mister Mole’s
house, Thumbelina found the singing bird. His wings were broken and he was about
to freeze to death. Luckily Thumbelina was there to give him a blanket to warm him
up a bit. To her surprise, he wasn’t dead. The singing bird thanked her for her help
and offered her to a ride but Thumbelina refused as his wings are too fragile at the
moment.
One hour before the wedding, Thumbelina went to see the singing bird for the last
time. He was already healthy. His wings were fixed and he could finally fly again. He
offered Thumbelina for a ride. He dropped Thumbelina on a beautiful flower garden.
In that flower garden, she found a fairy prince. They admitted to each other that they
had never seen anything like each other all their lifes. The prince fairy married
Thumbelina and granted her wish. Her wish was to finally meet her mother again.
Finally they reunited and lived happily ever after.
