TRIPS
Trips and seminars provide students with experiences that cannot be
duplicated in the school but are nonetheless an integral part of school instruction.
Field trips and seminars engage students in studies beyond what would be the
case in a classroom or lecture hall setting.

For our first Trip, we visited GMA Studio, on September 20, 2019. Global
Media Arts (GMA Network) is one of the famous Television and Radio Network
in the Philippines. They launched their first radio on air on March 1, 1950 and
for television on October 29, 1961. The network is located at Kamuning, Quezon
City. We visited the old studio and the new studio, costumes of the characters of
their old shows were displayed at the entrance. The facilitator has introduced
their network and the facilities to be visited on the tour. He discussed histories
of each studio. He had delivered some of the main features of the GMA network.
After telling us some of the studio visit policies, we had continued our tour
within. Rooms for the broadcasting side were viewed to us. Facilitator has
highlighted their new equipment. Time by time, we had seen the different
studios, old and new. We were able to view the studio set for their news. Next,
we had visited their FM studio and watched the DJ on-air. Lastly, we had our
tour on one of their biggest set. Atmosphere of working inside could make you
feel light and not so stressed. The people around seem to be good. This tour is
essential especially to some of us who would want to work in a broadcasting
company.

On November 25, 2019, our block visited the Hytec Power Incorporated
located at Novaliches, Quezon City. Hytec Power Inc. is a retail company that
focuses on providing solutions to industrial companies and Education. The
company traces its roots from its mother company, Smart Process Integration
which etched a big name in the Industry sectors in the 90s’. SPII started in 1994
as a very small business providing pneumatics & hydraulics components to
manufacturers & automotive industries. We aim to provide not only Educational
Training Products, but also Industrial Solutions products that will help Industries
solve their problems. Continued growth has given us the opportunity to improve
our services and provide the best solutions. The facilitator had demonstrated their
stuffs. It was presented and discussed to us but we cannot touch it since we do
not know how to use it and we might break it. We had a tour in each rooms, each
equipment were explained to us. The facilitators are kind and has the positive
vibe to share ideas and their knowledge to us. After the tour, they even provided
snacks and drinks for us which we really appreciated since the tour is also free.
This tour helped us to have knowledge about the training that may be added to
our skills.

SEMINARS
A seminar is a form of academic instruction, either at an academic
institution or offered by a commercial or professional organization. It has the
function of bringing together small groups for recurring meetings, focusing each
time on some particular subject, in which everyone present is requested to
participate.
Our block, CEIT-29-902E held two (2) seminars on September 21, 2019
located at Lobby B, SNAGAH Bldg. of Rizal Technological University. For the
morning session, the topic is about Python Programming Language discussed by
Engr. Dan Ford Innocencio, an engineer and a Professor in our department. It
was entitled as “Python – Getting Started and Real World Applications”. Python
is an interpreted, high-level, general-purpose programming language. Created by
Guido van Rossum and first released in 1991, Python's design philosophy
emphasizes code readability with its notable use of significant whitespace. Engr.
Innocencio gave us an idea for the application and features of Python. He
demonstrated basic codes with an application that got our interest on learning
Python.
For the afternoon session, the speaker Engr. Dexter C. Cabauatan, an
Electronics Engineer from INES Solutions INC. a Telecommunications Supplier
in Philippines entitled had entitled His topic as “Introduction in RF Industry".
The speaker briefly showed the things that happen in RF Industry. A lot of ideas
are pointed out on the discussion. Such as the site locations and the testing for
the signal coverage on the site. He also managed to discuss the advantages and
disadvantages in pursuing a job in the said industry.
On November 17, 2019, located at the Training Hall A of Rizal
Technological University, Block 1, CEIT-29-901E conducted a seminar. For the
morning session, the speaker Engr. Jan Bryan Pascasio entitled the topic as
“Building Management System”, He managed to have an interaction with the
discussion. After the discussion about the few introductory terms, he had
demonstrated an interactive activity to supplement our knowledge regarding
Building Management System (BMS). The lecture gave us a lot of ideas and
information. He was able to discuss it deeply which got our interest to learn more.
For the afternoon session, the speaker Mr. Jeric Dela Torre Pausanos,
shared his knowledge and experience about “SEMICONDUCTORS” as what the
seminar was entitled. He is working at ROHM LSI Design Philippines, Inc. His
knowledge in microelectronics was briefly discussed which was interesting.
Microelectronics, unlike other fields of Electronics and Communications
Industry, it might be a hard path or journey specially for those who are not
vigilant because of the way you have to work in this kind of industry, it requires
vigilance and courage.
