1 SCOPE
This test package describes the Hydrostatic Test of station piping section of utility water
supply System at HTS station and details all preparation work, test activities and
reinstatement works to be performed as per the approved method statement 325-QD60-
F-4002_Rev.1.
2 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS
The hydro-test is in compliance with:
1) 325-QD60-F-4002_Rev.1 - Method statement for pressure test of station piping;
2) 325-QP40-L-8004 Line list for MHFL-3 Rev.1
3) ASME B31.4 Pipeline Transportation Systems for Liquid Hydrocarbons and other
Liquids;
4) Project procedure manual;
5) Specification M19 Fabrication And Installation of Station Piping -Document No.
QC10-H-059_Rev.1;
3 PROCEDURE
3.5 Hydro-test.
Observing the vent valve, if there is no air bubble in the water from the vent valve,
the filling shall be stopped and pressure gauge shall be installed.
Start pressure rising, all the valves of this test package should be opened 50%, and
all vent and drain valves shall be closed with blind flanges or plug. If any leakage
happened, mark leak point, Sinopec shall stop rising and release pressure, repair
the leak and rise pressure again. As guideline max, pressure change rate of 10
psi/min. Pressurizing shall be done in steps: each pressure rise of 5 to 10 bar. During
pressurizing, for this pipe section, we take pressure for 4 steps: first time at 25% of
test pressure (1.87 bar), keep ten minutes to check leak or not; then at 50% of test
pressure (3.75 bar), keep ten minutes to check leak or not; then at 75%of test
pressure (5.62 bar),hold this pressure for 24 hours, and last time at 100% of test
pressure (7.5 bar). We will hold the last pressure (7.5 bar) for 24 hours, pressure
and temperature will be recorded at an interval of 30 min. We will use the
deadweight tester and pressure recorder chart the pressure, three thermocouples
will be used to check the pipe temperature and the average soil temperature for
24 hours, one is touching the pipeline above ground, another two will be installed
underground.
Engineer shall be present at starting time and the ending time of hydro-test of these
spools. This is the “hold point” of Sinopec. The Sinopec and ILF responsible hydro-
test engineer will decide whether the hydro-test is acceptable or failed.
4 SAFETY
Hydro-test team shall be trained by HSE department. Adequate safety signs boards will
be placed around hydro-test place, anyone can’t entry without permission, and HSE officer
shall monitor this work.
