Jane was on her way home when she spotted an injured pigeon.
It’s feathers were ruffled. It was cooing helplessly on the grass
patch. One of its wings looked crooked. Jane looked around. She saw a bird nest above her on a tree branch. Jane scooped up the little bird with both hands. She cleaned it with a piece of tissue paper. It had a broken right wing. There was also some blood On its legs. She took the bird home. She fed it with water and some breadcrumbs. On the first day, the pigeon refused to eat any food. With great patience, Jane coaxed the injured creature to feed on some bird grains. After a week, the pigeon was released through the window.

Besides the sun and the moon,Venus is the next brightest heavenly body in the sky. It is often known as earth’s “sister planet”. It has about the same size and mass as earth. It is close to earth but not as close as planet Mars. Most of what we know now about Venus is made available when the Soviet Union and the United States sent spacecrafts to Venus many years ago . One of spacecrafts, Pioneer Venus Orbiter, started going around Venus in 1978. It took thousands of pictures and measurements using its scientific instruments. When we look at Venus through a telescope, we never see its solid surface. A thick cover of clouds always hides it. Pictures taken by Venus Orbiter tell us about the layers and patterns of winds that are always blowing the clouds round the planet.
