Topic: Hemophobia: The Fear of Blood

 Introduction: Lives are significantly formed by fears. Fear is an emotion, it is based upon our
own and other actions. I had times in my life where fear has controlled me; where I was
unable to live my life the way I wanted because I was afraid of what could happen if I
ventured outside of my shell. And suddenly I’ve tried to think a way around these fears. I
did something where I was uncomfortable with and came out smiling and wonder why I
ever held back in the past.
 Transition: This case shows how a person would face their weaknesses or fears. Like me,
there are some individual who needs to cope up this kind of fear, and in this article,
professionals will explain what exactly hemophobia is.
 Body: According to R. Moustafa (2019), hemophobia means an extreme irrational fear of
blood. It falls under the category of “specific phobia”, were severe cases of this fear can
cause physical reactions that are uncommon in most other fears specifically vasovagal
syncope. It denotes that you have a drop in your heart rate and blood pressure in response
to a trigger, when you may feel dizzy or faint. Parallel reactions may also happen with
traumatophobia or an abnormal pathological fear of sustaining an injury. For this case,
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Ed. (DSM-5) categorized fear as “blood-injection-injury
(Bll) phobia.” And researchers estimate that between 3 and 4 percent trusted source of the
population experiences Bll phobia and often first arise in childhood, between ages 10-13.
 Another research implies that homophobia can be caused by a previous traumatic
experienced in childhood or early adolescence associated with blood. It can be an accident
or injury or painful medical procedure involving blood. Though some have suggested a
possible genetic link. Hemophobia may also as inherited form of fear. It has been seen that
people are more vulnerable to homophobia if they had a previous family history of blood
phobia. In this case, you may experience anxiety, vomiting, nausea and fainting. Symptoms
may be triggered by seeing blood and after thinking about blood or certain medical
procedures, like a blood test.
 In addition, Erica S. Ayala reviews a current recommended treatment for hemophobia. So in
order to get rid of this fear, a combination of therapies and medicines can be used as
treatment. Such as Cognitive behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Applied Tension,
desensitization and medicines for the anxiety and discomfort.
 Conclusion: Fears will always be fears if you won’t face it and thinking will not overcome
fear but action will. There are lots in things in life that you afraid to do, but once you step
up and take an action, you find that it was not a big problem as you thought. You just need
to have courage and believe in your capabilities that you can surpass this kind of fear. And
lastly, knowing God is guiding you and God is bigger than anything that causes us fear.

Topic: How a good night's sleep can improve your life?

 Introduction: The sun begins to set, moon and stars are able to light up the dark
atmosphere, air gets cold and the tiny-noisy- voice of those crickets gradually comes out. It
was already past seven as I entered our house coming home from school. Seems that
everyone have done their roles on that day. I can sense that they are totally tired, stressed
and sleepy. Right after, I entered my room with no words and let my tired soul lay in bed
where I can find peace. After a couple of seconds, I fell asleep. With that, I set myself free to
relieve the stress and tiredness after I exerted much energy and effort on that day. That was
a good night.
 Transition: This situation shows what an individual experienced during a whole day causes him/her
to be tired or stressed. Like what I've experienced, as a student and an individual who needs some
rest and a time-out for a busy day which can improve each of our lives.
 Body: According to Nationwide Children's Hospital, adolescents are notorious for not
getting enough sleep. The average amount of sleep that teenagers get is between 7 and 7 ¼
hours. However, they need between 9 and 9 ½ hours (studies show that most teenagers
need exactly 9 ¼ hours of sleep). Teenagers do not get enough sleep for a number of
reasons: Shift in sleep schedule, early high school start times and social and school
obligations.
 A lack of sleep at night can make you cranky the next day. And over time, skimping on sleep
can mess up more than just your morning mood. Studies show getting quality sleep on a
regular basis can help improve all sorts of issues, from your blood sugar to your workouts.
There are some factors why we should give our body the rest it needs. Sharper Brain, sleep
plays a big part in both learning and memory. Mood Boost, mind needs this time in order to
recognize and react the right way. Healthier Heart, while you sleep, your blood pressure
goes down, giving your heart and blood vessels a bit of a rest. Steadier Blood Sugar, during
the deep, slow-wave part of your sleep cycle, the amount of glucose in your blood drops.
Germ Fighting, your immune system identifies harmful bacteria and viruses in your body
and destroys them. Weight Control, when you're well-rested, you're less hungry. Being
sleep-deprived messes with the hormones in your brain -- leptin and ghrelin -- that control
appetite.
 Lebron James once said, "whenever you can do, can never ever substitute for sleep. That is
the greatest recovery for an athlete like myself, for an athletes all over the world, the
people around the world. The greatest recovery is actual sleep." To put it simply, even the
normal people or an athlete should have their proper rest time, if you overuse your body it
will reach to the point that you have to take much time to recover from it.
 Conclusion: Sleep needs vary, but on average, regularly sleeping more than 9 hours a night
may do more harm than good. Your best bet is to shoot for 7-8 hours of slumber each night
for peak health benefits. Sleep is wonderful that it can literally change your life. Sleep well.
