HISTORICAL APPROACH

1. How does it reflect over time in which it was written?

-The story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was set in early 1990s and as years goes by it reflect over the
time, because the past influences the present.in the present time it goes by the story of Dorothy Gale
who is being loss in a place where she didn't belong is still happening in the present time, even though
she loss the things that she really wanted and the people she loved and adored. Nothing will beats the
family’s love in the very beginning of your life here in the world even though she came in an orphan she
still manage to continue her life. That kind of story was very inspirable and that kind of story was still
happening in the present time

2. What literary or historical influences helped to shape the form and content of the work?

-Baum the writer in the story was always fascinated in terms of writing but he need to make more
money for his family’s need. So he found another work but sad to say he did not succeed either. He
decided to go on writing because his mother-in-law influences him.

3. What historical events or movements might have influenced this writer?

-Frank Baum wrote this in early 1990s and it was by the suffragist a Native American Rights Activist. Her
idea about women being was always suspected in crimes.

4. How important is the Historical context (the work and the reader) in interpreting the work?

- The Historical context (the work and the reader) is important in interpreting the work because it
qualify us to interpret and look over the the works or events in the past, It also qualify us to understand
the past so that we could reflect it in our own lives in the present time.
