ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN CAPSTONE PROJECT

Title of the study:

Objectives: Insert New Plan of Action

Introduction:

Summary:
January 9, 2020

With the approval of their research advisers, Mr. Heczel Minas and Mrs. Melannie Adante,

the researchers decided to head out and buy the raw materials required for the completion of the

bioretention cell. The researchers were able to buy the S1 sand that will be the coarse sand/slow-

sand filter at VPM Construction Supplies in the locality of Ibaan, Batangas. The coarse sand is one

of the vital component of the first process of filtration in the system. Subsequently, the ceramic

filter which is the last phase of the filtration system was bought by the researchers at Ace Hardware

located at SM Lipa City. The ceramic filters are the 0.1 and 0.3 micron ones. Later on, the

researchers acquired the storage of the runoff water at Dios Marketing at Lipa City, Batangas. The

day ended with an update in the Chapter 3 of the study and the design to furtherly improve the

filtration system.

The researchers took the advantage of not having classes to find a supplier of the most vital

hardware requirement in this project—the tampered glass. The tampered glass will hold every

components and processes of the whole filtration system. The researchers aim for a high quality

product and a budget-friendly one. With lots of inquiries and hurdles on that day, the researchers

were led to a glass supplier at Lipa City called Alumco Atainless Glass Supply. The manufacturing

company offers glass customization that is a big advantage for the researchers. There, they met

Genesis which offered them help to create the designed model. The day ended with the re-

development of the design for the convenience of its construction.

The researchers were able to complete the hardware requirements needed (the glass is still

being created). The first one is the vetiver grass and loam soil from Bonjar Coir Farm located at

San Pablo, Laguna. The loam soil and vetiver grass are the first process of filtration method where

the removal of water pollutants takes place. Later that day, the fine gravel from Pateña’s

Construction Supplies is finally acquired.

Here is the list of hardware requirements acquired and its corresponding price:
