PROCEDURE:
I. Introduction
1. Assign a student to lead the prayer.
2. Check the attendance and uniform of each student.
3. Order them to pick up the pieces of litter on the floor.
4. Review them on creative nonfictional elements.
5. Present the learning outcomes for the day.
II. Motivation
1. Facilitate a game called “WHAT’S NEW?!”
2. Explain the mechanics of the game:
a. The class will be divided into five (5) groups.
b. Each group must assign one member to act as a buzzer who will produce an alert tone, e.g. “ting!” or “plook!”
c. For each round, photos of items that are obsolete will be flashed on the screen.
d. Each group must identify their modern online versions but answer using common nouns in unison.
e. The group with the most number of points wins.

3. After the activity, ask them to make conclusions about the pictures shown. Lead them to the fact that most things that are now
obsolete have been replaced by online versions.
4. Show the term, “blog,” and mention it as another online version of an obsolete thing.
III. Delivery
(LO1: Explain Blog.)
1. Ask the students to explain what a blog is. After which, give the following definition:
Blog
- An online diary of the author’s own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and
links to other websites. Blog is a clipped word shortened from two words “web” and “log.”
Vlog or Blogging through Video (Show a short clip)
- A video blog or video log, usually shortened to vlog, is a form of blog for which the medium is video, and is a
form of web television. Entries can be recorded in one take or cut into multiple parts. The vlog category is
popular on YouTube.

2. Introduce the different types of blogs and let them explain each. Show specific examples for each type and let them identify
the nonfictional elements used.
Blogs for Personal Expression
- A blog is that it can be used to express your opinion and actually inform your readers about you, your life, as
well as your experience. By far, this is the most popular among the types of blogs. Common individuals may
usually connect with your experiences and at times, even comment their advice and thoughts on the post.

Ask the students to get ½ sheet of yellow paper and answer the following.
1. It is the first thing to remember on how to write a blog.
2. It is a blog that gives the entertainment on readers.
3. It is a blog that provides valid information to readers.
4. It is a blog that expresses the writer’s thoughts and opinions.
5. It is a blog that uses video as a form of expressing his/her experiences.
