The joint survey with Garson was scheduled for today. The Garson will sell a 620 sq. meters of land to
Rockgold. The Sagana Rockville subdivision doesn’t have an entry point in order to acquire one; they will
be buying a portion of the lot of the Garson Subdivision. The geodetic engineer of both firm resurveyed
the portion of land involved in order to have the final acquisition of the lot. In this activity, the chairman
of the Rockgold was also present; He also joined the survey and had a site inspection. In the surveying
process we had encounter a process we never met before in our survey subject. The surveyor did a solar
observation using the theodolite. The solar observation was used to determine the true azimuth
of baseline or the true directions. After the solar observation, the surveyor brought out the total
station, and directed the rodman in the positions of the stake in the site. The rodman is using a rod that
is equipped with leveling details and prism. The surveyor showed us how the surveying works. The
theodolite releases laser into the prism and the prism transmit back the length to the theodolite. The
geodetic engineer of the Rockgold did the necessary computations, and after which he talks and let the
Garson checks the results. He also found out that some of the stakes in the creek were moved, maybe
due to the running water, and when it is raining. He establish new stakes base on the original data. The
whole day ended with the joint survey activity.

The problem encountered for the day is the unfairness of the sold lot. In that lot there was a barangay
road declared and the Garson’s kept insisting of considering that lot for the 620 sq. m. sold lot, which is
supposed to be neglected since it is a road. Another thing, the Rockgold will be the one to construct the
road which is really a huge loss for the Rockgold. Since there is no entry point for the project, no right of
way, Rockgold was compelled to follow the terms of the Garson’s because they have no other choice, if
Garson’s won’t sell the portion of land there will be any means of access to the sagana subdivision.
Another problem is in the survey process, since the surveyor of the Garson’s leave immediately after the
meeting, He let the surveyor of the rockgold to do the sighting and establish the stakes, and informs him
later of the results. It is a joint survey, the surveyor of the Grason’s should be present and double check
the sightings of the surveyor of Rockgold to ensure that all are correct. His absence could lead to
problem in the future if there would be misunderstanding about the lot. In checking of the guard house
the boss ordered to have windows be installed in the side and back of the guard house. The wall for the
revision of the big boss was ready for plastering that time, since they followed the approved plan. Now
they would be tearing of the wall to establish window, in doing so, they would be demolishing the wall
completely and in addition they are compelled to input reinforcements since the wall area is reduce, the
remaining wall would not be able to carry the load of the roof. This means making of formworks again
and concrete pouring. Waste of time, effort and money.
Today I learned the value of stakes in the site, Architect kim reiterated to us that stakes should be kept
and secured, not only as a sign of your property line but it is used for layouting structures, make sure
that the stakes are staked correctly to avoid problems in the future. Also, Have your own survey and
observations, as double check sometimes, the surveyor could also be in mistakes, it is better to be sure
in everything, than to regret later not checking on it. Sometimes there will be problems that will leave us
no choice, and make us the under hand. When the time comes, always find ways how to cope up with it.
I’ll see to it that I will try to resolve things. In order to avoid these situations, I will make sure to have a
thorough planning and analyzing. In every problem that is encountered, we must analyze the current
situation very carefully, we look back to our goals, and past performances and we might think of
solution for it. We must establish benchmarks every now and then, once we completed our analysis of
the problem, we establish benchmark to track our work performance and compare it with the problem
we had in our past or we could use it to compare with future problems. In the site, once we identified
the probable cause of the problem or problem that might rise up, make sure we monitor and process
solutions for it. We need to have an update on it from time to time until it is completely omitted.
