1. Characters:
 WALL-E
Wall –E is a robot who was built as a waste collector by Buy n Large Corporation
and is programmed to haul garbage plaguing Earth. Due to being alone for years, the
system of Wall-E developed glitch which led Wall-E to have a mind of its own
wherein he became curious about things and collects them.

 EVE
EVE is a robot who was built to function as a biological terrestrial probe. She was
equipped with all necessary parts for the exploration of vegetation in Earth such as
scanner, speed, flight and plasma cannon. Eve is very dedicated robot who follows
her directive at all cost.

 Captain B. McCrea
Captain B. McCrea is the captain and commander of the Axiom. Like other
people of Axiom, the captain is also obese, and had a little knowledge about things
in Earth. However, the captain had the enthusiasm to learn about Earth.

 Auto
Auto is a programmed machine of Axiom who serves as a pilot. He shows no
emotion at all and complies with the directive or program given to him which is the
A113 Protocol.

 Shelby Forthright
Shelby Forthright is the CEO of Buy n Large Corporation and the proponent of
the Axiom project. Due to the advancement of Buy n Large Corporation, the earth
acquired garbage problems which led to the production of trash compactor robots
(WALL-Es) and for the humanity to leave Earth and live in space. He is also the one
who give Auto the A113 Protocol.

2. Significant Plots of the Story

 The scene where in it shows the state of the earth where in compressed trash is
arranged or replicated as tall as buildings.
This scene left me dumbfounded and terrified, it depicts the effect of too much
advancement neglecting the effect in the environment. This scene opened my eyes
for the possibility of the earth having a pile of trash as tall as buildings, filthy air, no
color, no life, if humans continues advancement without considering the effect of the
move in the environment. This scene let the earth speaks for itself, what will become
of earth in the future if we still continue to ignore him for our own greed.

 The scene which shows the state of the people inside the Axiom.
This scene disgust me, I hate how the human race rely too much in robots that
they even abandon walking and just lie down in floating chair like beds which
results to the loss of the ability to care for themselves or even see any problems
around them. They are driven all around Axiom doing nothing to the extent that if
they fall out of their chairs they are physically incapable of getting themselves up.
However, this scene is also a good eye-opener for people for it portrays a good
lesson about the effect of being tardy and lack of awareness in the surroundings.

 The scene where in Captain B. McCrea decided to fight AUTO.

This scene inspires me. Despite of the lack of knowledge of the captain about
earth, I like his enthusiasm in learning about it, and how he decides to fight back
AUTO despite of the shackles he had (obesity, lack of knowledge). I also admire his
decision in taking the forward leap even after learning about the A113 Protocol, I
like the way he perceives the tiny plant as a ray of hope of earth becoming once
again a livable environment. This scene also brings us message about personal
responsibility.

3. Quotable line

 “Out there is our home, home Auto and it’s in trouble, I can’t just sit here and do
nothing, it’s all I have ever done, it’s all anyone in this ship have ever done,
nothing!” - Captain B. McCrea
The statement of Captain B. McCrea means that do the best thing you can even
if you started late, go ahead and try, think of what you can do, what will make you
grow and what would help your surroundings grow; take a one small step, that small
step could be the start of a big leap for something to change.

 “Life is sustainable now, look at this plant, green and growing” - Captain B.
McCrea
This statement tells that the plant’s existence signals that life would be
sustainable, that earth has a livable environment. Behind this statement also lies a
message, “we can’t live without plants, once plants are gone, we are too”.

4. Lessons learned

 Nature has its limits, we need it to live.

Life is not sustainable if nature is ruined. God created earth in order for us to
do meaningful work. Advancement is not that bad, but if we chose our own greed
over the environment that is the time advancement becomes threatening not only
for nature but for our lives also, as for we continue to advance neglecting the
effect we are reducing the life span of our survival in earth. There is always a way
to live in harmony with nature.

 Nature knows how to fight back.

When we chose to advance the living of humans it’s always been two sided.
The advancement helped us in one way but hurt us in another. Every advancement
had a hidden cost in the environment we might not feel or see it at mean time but
for sure nature knows how to fight back and we’ll receive it twice or even thrice.

 Take care of earth since we don’t have anywhere else to go.

Earth is finite, imagine if earth became like the earth in the movie. At this
very moment we don’t have the capacity to build an Axiom, we would be left out
here in earth to die. We should not just preserve earth we should prevent it from
being destroyed. We should have personal responsibility in every action we do.
We must not let ourselves be eaten by greed. Let’s find ways to live in harmony
with nature while advancing.

1. Characters:

 Ted Wiggins
A 12-year old boy who lives in the town of Thneedville. Ted is a gullible and
optimistic boy who would do anything to impress the girl he likes.

 Once-ler
Once-ler is a young ambitious man, the person behind the production of Thneed.
Due to his greed he became a greedy industrialist who cut down trees. Once-ler also
served as a narrator in the movie.

 The Lorax
The Lorax is a small, orange creature, with fluffy fur and a yellow mustache. He
serves as the voice of the trees; he can be seen as the guardian of the trees. The
Lorax cares a lot for the environment, he can be cranky and grumpy but he is also
known to be thoughtful, earnest, loving and understanding.

 Grammy Norma
She is the grandmother of Ted Wiggins, the person who tells Ted about Once-ler
and how to find him. Despite of being old, Grammy Norma never shows a sign of
oldness, she is seen in the movie as silly, outrageous, athletic and a trickster

 Mrs. Wiggins
Mrs. Wiggins is the mother of Ted who have fondness of music and dancing. She
is a caring and protective mom and values family time. She is more considered
mature than her mother Gammy Norma.

 Aloysius O’Hare
Aloysius O’Hare is the mayor of Thneedville, and the owner of O’Hare’s air
company. He’s a greedy man who would do anything to maintain his position.

 Once-ler’s Family
Uncle Ubb is Once-ler’s uncle and is the Patriarch of the family. Bret and Chet
are Once-ler’s twin and stupid older brothers. Isabella is Once-ler’s mom and
Grizelda is Once-ler’s aunt. The family of Once-lers shown little confidence on him,
they are also snobby, money-crazy, cruel, abusive and manipulative towards Once-
ler. They are the reason for Once-ler’s negative personality traits.

2. Significant Plots of the Story

 The opening scene where in it shows the Thneedville

This scene astonished me for there are no trees at all around the town. All are
made of concrete and replicas of the real things like flower, grass and trees, and
people like it.

 The scene where it introduces the oxygen tanks.

This scene left me dumbfounded, this portrays how awful the quality of air in
Thneedville is, to the extent that they need to produce air in tanks and they even had
an air dispenser.

 The scene where in Once-ler became greedy.

This scene taught me that family greatly affect and influences you on how you
perceive things. They can be the reason of your behavior and decisions. The scene
also depicts the effect of your deed to your surroundings once you are fed up with
greed.

3. Quotable line

 “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful a lot, nothing is going to get better,
its not.” – Once-ler
Problems, especially man made, need intervention in order to be solved.
Various problems such as mismanaged waste, illegal logging, and burning of
plastics contribute to the slow disintegration of our environment. The quote simply
implies that we, humans, are the only one that can solve these problems. The plants
and the animals stand powerless against the machines and the evil ploys of humans.
Hence, the quote, as a driving force, simply empowers the individual to act against
these detrimental things.

 “A tree falls the way it leans, Be careful which way you lean.” – The Lorax
The statement of the Lorax signifies on whom you are leaning or depending on.
No man is an island, we intend to rely on others whether we are aware of it or not.
When we lean with the wrong person it could lead us to bad conclusions; we should
not just rely on others easily, we shouldn’t rely on them just because they are our
friends or our families, we should evaluate people whom we can rely on. We should
choose the best options, by choosing the best options, we should not only consider
our own benefit but we should also consider our surroundings. Like a weak tree if it
leans with another tree or a thing to keep itself sturdy it will continue to grow and
become sturdy by time but if the tree lean in an empty space there is a possibility for
the that tree to .

4. Lessons learned

 Humans are both the hero and the villain of nature.

We have been endowed with creative minds it is our duty to do meaningful
work. By work it means to advance in harmony with nature. It’s our duty to
preserve the nature not only for the future generation but also for other species of
animals and living things which also lives here in earth. However, we also have
this aspect wherein we continue to attempt to use our minds in completely
negative senses and that affects the living standards to deteriorate.

 The care for nature starts at home.

The environment where a person grew up greatly affects how that person
perceives things. Words and actions of people around us may affect our decisions
and views, if a person grew up in an environment where people neglect the effect
of their actions to the nature; it is more likely that person could develop negative
behavior. If we want to care for nature we should start it at our home though it is a
small action, it could grow bigger because we can influence other people through
these small actions.

 Turning a blind eye will make us do more.

Sometimes we turn a blind eye in small things, we think of it as it does not
contribute to anything because it is just a small act. However, if we continue to do
things this way it can lead us to do more and more because we tend to do it many
times in the past. And this little act could also be a pushing factor for us to do
things more grave. Today, a piece of candy wrapper is thrown anywhere,
tomorrow it could be plastic bottle left out anywhere.
