Red Hat Installation

➢ Insert DVD→select language→set date & time.


➢ Installation source →enable additional reporitories →done.
➢ Software selection →select all base environment and add-ons for selected
environment.
➢ System →installation destination → select local disk →done → reclaim
space →done.
➢ KDUMP →manual → 255→ done.
➢ Begin installation→set root password → create user→finish configuration.

Mentor Graphics Installation

➢ Go to home→create new folder(mgc_tree) →copy: tanner → RHEL pack1


→ RHEL pack2 → calibre.
1. To extract RHEL pack 1:
➢ Goto → RHEL pack1→right click →open termibal →type ls_lrt → type
chmod 777 * → su → root 123 → ls_lrt →drag files → rpm –ivh --nodeps.
(Same for all packs)
2. To extract Calibre:
➢ Right click mgc_tree → open terminal → pwd → ls → ls_lrt → chmod 777
aoi (tab) enter → ./aoi (tab) enter → D→yes.
➢ Now go to tanner → tanner_18_3_41 → copy (tanner 2018.341rhel6.bin)
→ into mgc_tree folder
3. To extract Tanner:
➢ Right click on mgc_tree → open terminal → pwd → ls → ls_lrt → chmod
777 t (tab) enter → ./t (tab) enter →
/home/(username)/mgc_tree/tanner_in → enter
➢ Create new folder in mgc_tree (name it as Installables) → copy
(aoi_cal_2018_.2_52_40_mib.exe)→ tanner _2018_341_rhel6.bin paste in
installables
➢ Create new folder in mgc_tree (calibre) → copy 5 executed files of calibre
(aoi_cal_2018.2_52.40, aoi_nxdat_2018.262.40, docs_cal_2018.2_15.10,
install.ixl, _msidata and paste in calibre
4. Connect to LAN:
➢ Go to settings→network → wired → add profile → ipv4 → make automatic
to manual → fill following → add
Address: 192.168.10.**
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.10.16
➢ Right click on desktop → open terminal → cd Desktop → su → root123 →
vi/etc/hosts → move the cursor at last point and press i → right arrow →
enter
➢ 192.168.10.16 Mentorgraphics –pc →esc → :wq! → ping 162.168.10.16
→ to close press ctl c
➢ Right click on desktop → open terminal → cd Desktop / → csh → source
tanner.cshrc → lmstat → sedit/ledit
5. To link calibre and tanner :
➢ Click on set up →ok
➢ File open → tanner_EDA → tanner_tools_V2018.3 →features by tool →
ledit → T cells →choose any .tab file and click open → set up calibre
connections → calibre binary or script: $CALIBRE_HOME/bin/calibre
6. Variable:
➢ CALIBRE_HOME /home/vlsilab/mgc_tree/calibre/aoi_cal_2018.2_52.40
➢ MGLS_LICENCE_FILE 1717@192.168.16 OK
