Chain Link Fence Replacement
Request For Proposals
The Township of Hamilton is seeking proposals for:
Chain Link Fence Replacement
Replacement of existing chain link fencing materials above dasher boards at two street hockey courts.
Facility: Liepe Tract Recreation Complex
3155 Liepzig Avenue
Mays Landing, NJ 08330
Block 1141, Lot 12
Fencing Details:
Contractor shall remove and replace the chain link fence on two (2) existing 180’ x 85’ street hockey
courts. The new chain link fence shall extend to a height of 5’ above the dasher boards. The contractor
shall take appropriate measures to ensure the new chain link fencing is installed so as not to interfere
with the use of doors or gates. The contractor shall utilize and install special corner support sleeves to
allow the new chain link fencing to turn corners at box areas.
The new chain link fence fabric shall be 1” x 1” mesh, 0.148” diameter (9 gauge) black PVC coated. The
new fence fabric shall be installed in a maximum of 50’‐0” lengths and pulled tightly with a tension bar
at each end of fence section. Fencing shall be installed in front of the 2‐1/2” dia. pipe supports, so that
the fencing appears continuous from the rink proper. PVC coated metal fasteners shall be used to
attach the fence to the vertical and top horizontal members. Fasteners will be located at a minimum of
1’‐0” on center along both horizontal and vertical pipe support posts. The bottom of the fence fabric
shall extend a minimum of 1” below the handrail level for safety.
All fasteners and components used to assemble the fencing system shall be installed in such a fashion
that no sharp or dangerous surfaces are exposed to the rink side of the dashers. Components shall be
turned so that they are exposed to the back of the boards. At any point where the fence must be cut to
fit, there shall be no exposed sharp wire ends. The cut wire shall be removed from the fabric.
The intent of this proposal is to utilize the existing rails, posts and other supports to the extent possible.
Replacement of rails, posts and/or other supports shall be replaced with like materials and shall be
quoted as necessary.
