Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The activity I have planned for the students to do is see my example of
my movie and the book I am going to create and then I am going to have them chose a number 1-20 and
make a book with that one number and have them represent it in multiple different ways. They are going to
be representing it in a PowerPoint where students are going to be engaged and interacting with the
productivity tool. Given that students are allowed the choice to pick one number they are going to choose
their own difficulty which means this lesson is ranged for all learners. Since the students are going to be doing
this lesson with technology and having to use the internet for images it allows them to fully interact with the
topic they are learning about which will support their learning and keep students more engaged.

Lesson idea implementation: The standard we will be working on throughout this lesson is MGSEK.CC.3
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20. The students are
going to be placed in to four groups. Each group is going to have a book they can follow. I am going to play
the movie I have created to the class and I am going to want them to follow along in the book as the movie
plays the book is about counting and I think students will find it really interesting and fun to be working with a
book while the sound of the book is going along with it. Once we have finished reading the book I am going to
ask the students if they enjoyed the book I made and also ask if they liked that they could listen along. After
this discussion, I am going to introduce to the students the assignment I have planned for them.

I will ask the students to choose one number between 1-20. Once they have chosen their number they are
going to create their own PowerPoint showing many different ways to represent the number they have
chosen. Since the students are given the opportunity to choose their own number this lets them choose the
difficulty level for this assignment as well. If some students have finished before others because they are at a
higher learning level I will have those students do a higher number that I chose for them, and they will keep
going until the rest of the class is done. Once everyone in the class is done I am going to make them into
books and have them around the class as resources for the students. Students will be assessed with their final
product that they turn in, the feedback will be given during their work time because I will be walking around
and monitoring their progress.

Reflective Practice: This lesson will allow students to interact with technology while also learning about the
unit they are on. I think this will have a big impact on students because it allows them to have a tangible final
product that they can be proud of and look back on. This lesson is meant for the beginning of the unit when
students are first introducing to numbers and how to represent numbers. I could further this lesson by having
them do something more like my example and have them make a PowerPoint representing all numbers 0-20.
This would also be cool to do after the end of a unit because it could show the students how far they have
grown in the unit.
