DSFQ Mechanics
1. This competition is for all First Place winners of all district levels in the elementary and
secondary levels.
2. Three (3) hard copies of the study will be submitted to EPS Nonita C. Patalinghug on
SEPTEMBER 15-16, 2016. Failure to submit such documents would mean forfeiture of the chance
to join this event.
3. The Elementary will have the SIP and Intel - SIP for the secondary level. No same study has to
be presented in all the entries..
4. The researchers may opt to submit a study on Physical Science or Life Sciences.
5. The researcher shall prepare a power point presentation.
6. Materials used in the actual study are not to be brought anymore. A whole size illustration board
shall be used as display board.
7. Each entry should be identified by numbers and should not bear the name of the school.
8. Presentation of the study is limited to 5 minutes only after which interrogations by the BOJ will
follow.
9. The team is required to display their work before the set date and time of the congress.
10. The criteria for judging are as follows:
Research Skills - 40 pts.
Innovativeness - 25 pts.
Usefulness - 25 pts.
Communication Skills - 10 pts.
Total - 100 pts.
11. The top three (3) will be declared as first, second and third place winners.
12. Judges decision is irrevocable and final.
1. This is an oral test to be contested by a team of four (4). The team will be composed of
one (1) student per grade/year level. ( Grade 3-6) , (Grade 7-10).
2. Each elementary district is entitled to one (1) team of contestants while each public &
private secondary school is entitled to one (1) team only.
3. The test is composed of ten (10) easy/knowledge questions, ten (10) average/process
questions, and ten(10) understanding/difficult questions.
4. The specific points per round are:
Easy Round - 1 point
Average Round - 2 points
Difficult Round - 3 points.
5. The quiz master will read each question twice then after that he/she will say GO. The
contestants will start answering then after thirty (30) seconds for the easy round, one (1)
minute for both the average and difficult rounds, the buzzer/bell will ring that indicates the
time where the slate/illustration boards will be raised.
6. Queries and clarifications should be raised prior to the reading of the succeeding
question and should be settled by the coaches, event manager and science EPS before
proceeding to the next question.
7. To answer, the contestant will raise the card with the letter that corresponds to the team’s
chosen answer.
8. The proctors will announce the teams with the correct answers for recording on the
board and on the tally sheet.
9. At the end of every round the scores will be totaled to show the standing of every team.
No elimination will be done to give each team a chance until the last round.
10. In case of a tie, a clincher round will be given to break such tie.
11. Official announcement of the top three winners will be done during the Culmination

1. This competition is for all First Place winners of eliminations for elementary level for
teachers. For the secondary level, each public & private school is entitled to one contestant.
2. The poster should revolve around the theme.
3. The medium for visual artistry shall be oil pastel. For sketching, pencil shall be used.
The oil pastel and the pencil shall be brought by the contestants.
4. The required base paper is ¼ illustration board to be provided by the committee.
5. The contest will last for two (2) hours. When the allotted time is over, each contestant
should stop painting.

8. The point person will collect the paintings and display them for judges to evaluate based
on the following criteria:
Originality of the Idea - 40 pts.
Relevance to the theme - 30 pts.
Color harmony - 20 pts.
Overall Impact - 10 pts.
Total - 100 pts.

1. This competition is for all winners of district & cluster eliminations for public
elementary & secondary schools and for all private elementary & secondary schools with
one entry each.
2. There will be four (4) members for each team. For elementary the composition will be:
Grade 3, 4, 5, & 6 pupils and for Secondary: Grade 7, 8,9,10 students.
3. For the elementary division, the contestants will be performing activities by stations
involving competencies on living things, matter, energy and force and motion. For Junior
High School, the contestants will be performing activities by stations involving different
science process in Eart Science, Biology, chemistry and Physics.
4. Each station will only be performed in 10 minutes.
6. Contestants are not allowed to confer with fellow contestants from other group and
should never approach any unauthorized persons once the competition has started.
7. Specific points are indicated on the questions given within the activity.
9. The score shall be obtained by adding the all the scores in all the activities.

1. This competition is for all First Place winners of the elementary districts. All public &
private secondary schools are entitled to one contestant. SPED and SSES Qualify directly to
the division level.
2. The medium to be used in all levels will be English.
3. The tests for all grade/year levels will be composed of 5 items easy, 5 items average and 5
items difficult questions. Specific points per round are:
Easy Round - 1 point
Average round - 2 points
Difficult Round - 3 points.
4. The questions will be read twice by the Quizmaster. Contestants may answer after the first
reading of the question. However, the answer card shall only be raised after the allotted time.
