Profile

I am a PhD Candidate (ABD) in Latin American History at El Colegio de México (CEH-

COLMEX). Since the beginning of my academic career in 2007, I specialized in the history of
Latin America, taking a series of courses available at the university and further academic
training in the same field. My main area of research in those years has been Political and
the Cultural History of Mexico, from the second half of the XIX century through the XX
century in a comparative perspective with Brazilian History. Other areas of expertise include
Latin American identities, Latin American race relations, Intellectual History and Latin
American Cultural Studies.

My current research is dedicated to investigating the role of Brazilian and Mexican

anthropologists (among other men of science) in the critique of scientific racism from 1911
to 1950. It also analyzes the importance of that critique to the formation of the national
identity of these two countries in the same period.

Regarding my experience as a teacher, it ranges from History teaching in a variety of

contexts to teaching foreign language, being that Portuguese, English or Spanish. I’m also
well experienced in organizing academic events.
