coloured pencils, computer, video-projector, internet.

T greets the Ss and asks them a few ordinary questions (Who is on duty today? / Is anybody
absent? /How did you spend your weekend?). Ss answer and prepare themselves for the lesson

2. WARM- UP
T writes on the bb the “Quote of the day” (mention should be made that almost every English
class starts like this: T and Ss comment upon a saying/proverb/quote)

Timing: 4 minutes
3. CHECKING HOMEWORK
T asks them about their homework. In turns Ss read their homework while the other classmates
pay attention in order to correct them if necessary (homework: ex. 3, 4/p.16, from workbook)

Timing: 5 minutes
PROCEDURE:
a. T tells the Ss that they are having a new lesson in which they will talk about a topic all
children like; T shows them pictures representing characters from the most famous

stories, such as Little Red Riding Hood, The Snow White, Cinderella; Ss recognize the
characters and answer the T’s question “ Today’s lesson is about ……”
b. T asks Ss to open their books at page 25 and look at the pictures and title and try to
brainstorm through the pictures.

brainstorming.
Timing: 3 minutes
PROCEDURE:
a. Ss listen to a piece of music and they have to say which country they associate with the
music
b. T plays the tape again asking Ss to listen and read silently for specific information. Ss
have to say if they can identify in the text any of the creatures from the pictures or from
the brainstorming web.
c. Ss read the text aloud, in turns.

9. ASSIGNING HOMEWORK

T assures it at the end of the lesson and makes remarks regarding the pupils’ activity during
the lesson.
