FASTAG :

Do you know when it comes in terms of TIME & MONEY. People will start to think twice & when time it
is related to delivery time. They will get frustrated in their jobs.

It is scenario of Trucks drivers. When they have responsibility to complete their task on time without
getting delayed & just because of long queue, toll payment time & exchanging cash are the problems
for them. They love driving but not IDLE TIME at Booth.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) got to know from a report carried out by the Transport
Corporation of India (TCI), in a joint venture with IIM Kolkata, that India incurs roughly a loss of USD 6.6
billion (4,66,12,83,00,000.00 Indian Rupee ) per year on account of transportation delays. This problem
compels the Indian government to integrate Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) as soon as possible.

NHAI is investing in FASTag technology that allow automatic payment deduction from the FASTag. Nitin
Gadkari, the Road Transport and Highways Minister, has announced that FASTags will become
mandatory for all vehicles, private and commercial, from December 15 where the earlier deadline was
December 1 , 2019. Fastag are prepaid rechargeable tags for toll collection that allow automatic
payment deduction from the FASTag, they are normally affixed on the windscreen of your vehicles.
Before FASTag, commutators were paying money through hard cash or via card payment which were
taking more time in the queue. As soon as the vehicle crosses the toll plaza, the toll fee will get
deducted from the bank account/prepaid wallet linked to the FASTag affixed on the vehicle's
windscreen.

How this technology will work?

It works on RFID (Redio-frequency identification) technology, where RFID reader uses the
electromagnetic fields to automatically identify & track tags attached on objective.

How will FASTag work ?

When communitor crosses the booth , RFID reader automatically will read & deduct the payment from
FASTag holder’s account. The whole process of will be done with a minutes without waiting in the
queues. The users have to add transacts amount through their Debit/Credit card or Paytm & NEFT/Net
Banking. Government is already issued 22 certified banks through various channel for Point of Sale at
National Highway Toll Plazas & Bank Branches. They can also available at E-commerce platforms.

The FASTag technology concept is based on Do-It-Yourself. Any Android mobile users have to download
FASTag application from Play store & Apple users through Apple Store. Users will load prepaid money
through their exiting banks. The validity of FASTag is 5 years,So there is not tension to reactivation
process.
