10. MATERIAL CERTIFICATION

10.2 Type ’A1’ Certificate of compliance
10.2.1 C.O.C. for raw materials & consumables
This is an indirect certificate as defined in Sub-spec. 10.1, often referred to as a Statement of Compliance or
Certificate of Compliance (C.O.C.).

It shall assert, without quoting actual test results, that the material it represents meets the specified require-
ments.

The basis for issuing such a certificate shall be general knowledge/records of production and material control.

The minimum contents shall be as follows:

1. Purchaser’s or manufacturer’s reference, e.g. Order number.

2. Date of issue.
3. Material designation.
4. Quantity covered.
5. Compliance statement, including the specification reference.
6. Name of issuing company.
7. Name, job title and signature of person authorising certificate.

Certificates to the above specification shall be retained by the manufacturer for a minimum of five years.

Unless otherwise specified copies of these certificates need not be included in the documentation package.
