How you’ll impact CarMax:


We’re looking for a team-player that’s passionate about analytics, innovation and strategy. This
position will play a meaningful role helping CarMax use analytics and strategy to build digital
products and capabilities that meet the evolving needs of our 1M+ customers. You will be an active
member of 1-2 product and technology teams, providing analytical and data-driven, strategic
guidance as these team’s craft CarMax’s digital / omni-channel customer experiences.
Some of the primary responsibilities for the role include:
 Partner with Product Owner to develop and monitor key performance metrics and set the
strategic direction for the product
 Design and analyze tests to evaluate the effectiveness of iterative changes to digital products,
using analytical findings to make recommendations and influence rollout decisions
 Identify improvement opportunities and conduct deep dive analyses to drive innovation
 Perform data-driven analysis to support prioritization decisions and address critical questions
 Periodically present decision recommendations to CarMax senior leadership

 Develop ideas and requirements for new solutions that create significant business value
 Drive multiple complex programs simultaneously from initiation through delivery
 Drive continuous process improvements by collaborating with stakeholders on design of new
solutions that enhance business performance and achieve established goals - Manage daily and
weekly operations of specific product development
 Support critical relationships with internal teams in Seattle, Bangalore, Chennai, and other
business partners
 Lead the development process of new initiatives partnering with internal CMT teams and
external stakeholders
 Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet
strategic or financial goals
 Own the progress of launch goals and KPIs by applying strong management practices of
monitoring, analyzing, identifying, and resolving performance challenges through preparing
and completing action plans
 Review and analyze data for metrics and decision support
Basic Qualifications

8+ yrs. work experience with at least 3 yrs. of large-scale product/project management.

 Strong experience in working with business stakeholders to develop new product initiatives
 Has a background in decision making, ability to drive business/operations metrics, and driving
adoption of different tools and resources.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Demonstrated leadership with a bias towards action, supporting a culture of ownership and
learning.
 Skilled in collaborative management environment, succeeding through regular meetings and
clear formal and informal communication with members of the remote and local management
teams.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

 Master’s Degree/MBA, Certification in process excellence (PMI, Lean, Six Sigma). - Exposure to
working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology.

Technical skillset
- Proficiency with qualitative and quantitative research methods & reporting tools; experience with
or in-depth knowledge of the following preferred:
 A/B and Multivariate Testing (knowledge of Adobe Target preferred)
 SQL
 Tableau or other business intelligence tools
 Online Survey Software (knowledge of Qualtrics preferred)
 Usability Testing (websites or other software)
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SQL / Database required
- Experience with Python and web analytics tools is a plus (Adobe Analytics / SiteCatalyst preferred),
including implementation, configuration, and report design
