LEARNING COMPETENCY 3.4 : Distinguish the limitations and possibilities for


transcendence

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the 60 minute session , 80% of the student is expected
to:
1. Describe what is Spatial- Temporal being
2. Distinguish the level of limitations finitude,spatial and perspective
3. Evaluate own limitations through collaborative learning.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

1. What are the two type of reflection?
2. How do you differentiate between Primary reflection and secondary reflection
3. Name a thing and a person that you think have significantly shaped you to be
the person that you are today.

E. DISCUSSION / ABSTRACTION

1. Our topic is about Spatial-Temporal Being,it is one of the type of limitations


which describes the fact that we are born and that we exist in a particular
place and time already sets limitations on us that may be considered on
different levels.
2. The level of limitations ( Temporality)
1. FINITUDE – recognize our morality and accept that we will not live
forever.
Not Yet - not yet allowed to eat certain foods ,beverages,
watch certain movies,wear particular foods and go to certain
places.
Lack of time – sense of youth (age) feeling we are being
restricted by people

No longer- not capable of certain activities example is


childbearing
2. SPATIAL INDIVIDUALS –we are limited by our bodies to be
present in two or more places at the same time.
3. PERSPECTIVE- the interrelation in which a subject or its parts are
mentally viewed.

F. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
A.Group Activity
1. The class will be divided into 5 groups
2. Each group will be given a data retrieval chart in which they are going to
write down the three level of limitations on the first column and questions
on the second column and on the third column is the answer.

3. Once the group had finished writing question fold it and distribute it to other
groups.
4. Once the group finished answering , they will return it to the original owner
of the paper
5. Each group share one of the questions and let the class answer it orally.
6. The group has to analyze if their classmates answer is correct.

2. Was it easy to formulate questions?
3. How was the experiences of answering classmates questions?
4. What are the things that hinder you to write and answer the questions?
5. Do your limitations support our topic?
6. How do you overcome these limitations in our activity?
7. In a real life situation, how did you cope or transcend from your limitations?

G. GENERALIZATION/ SYNTHESIS
We recognize our mortality and accept that our life on earth is temporay
and we will not live forever, as long as we are alive we are going to accept the
challenge and transcends despite our limitations.
IV. EVALUATION
Write a short essay on this statement “ Our limitations challenge us to be
creative and responsible”
V. ASSIGNMENT
Research about the body as Intermediary.
