DUW Software Upgrade

Method of Procedure

1. Switch on the DUW

2. Connect serial cable to port LMTA
3. Use Putty or Hyper Terminal for your PC to communicate with the DUW.
4. Open Putty and click on serial. When the new appears, press and Enter and then the "$" sign will appear.
5. User name on the command Prompt is rbs .
6. Password on the command Prompt is rbs .

7. Set up the IP adress for the node by typing the following command:

$ ifconfig le0 169.254.1.1 netmask 255.255.0.0 press Enter

$ reload press Enter
This command should restart the node and at this stage you should be able to log on to the DUW with the new IP Adress 169.254.1.1

Element Manager

Connect your LAN cable to the LMTB Port

Change your PC IP Adress to 169.254.1.2 and subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 to set up communication betweeen the DUW and the PC.

Dowloading Element Manager Application.

Open internet explorer and type the following adress:

http://169.254.1.1/em/index.html
Download the Element Manager installation file and install it on your PC.

Start Element Manager by typing ip adress 169.254.1.1 and then connect.

You may need to upgrade the Software Package

From the Element Manager window click on the drop down menu and select software
Click on UP and then highlite the present Software Package
Click on create UP at the bottom of the screen.

At this stage you should enable your Bullet Proof ftp server and set up User account like below

Under directories, choose a folder where the Upgrade Package is located and then start the server.
