PACKAGING FOR SHORT SET
Revisions have been made when shipping short sets:
Vendors are making the cartons too short (not high enough) and folding short sets, poly-bags are
being placed too tightly around pre-pack-leaving no room for sleeves.
When carton height is not adequate –Some Vendors are pressing the garment down and the
bottom hanger is pressing inside the other garments, this is causing garment to be crush and
result in extreme wrinkling.
Requirements:
1.) Can go higher on carton height about 1½ “to avoid carton flaps crushing the
garment.
2.) Do not fold any short/set especially when using Top & bottom hanger.
Use extra caution when packaging garments. Cartons must be sized correctly. The carton should
be a maximum of 1” to 1 ½” wider than the size of the hanger on both sides. Hangers must fit
“squarely” in the cartons (not at an angle).
Each factory is responsible for quality of shipping. This includes utilizing quality of packaging
(cardboard inserts, double wall cardboard cartons to adequately protect the product). Do Not use
anchors in the cartons such as plastic tied, bands, strings or staples. (Only when Customers SO
calls out for anchoring) Absolutely no rubber bands are permitted around hangers.
Please insure that packing is adequate to prevent wrinkling or soiling-(Do not stuff too tightly or
leave lots of empty space).
All opening (seams) on 4 sides of the cartons must be sealed using “H” method-(Haddad tamper
proof tape”)

DO AND DON‟TS ON JOKER TAG
Do not place and plastic tack on any of the barcodes or at zone 7 where MSRP
placement is, this disrupts the information needed to be provided, in the event
the MSRP has to be ripped off for a customer- the joker tag will come lose
easily.
NEVER use metal staples or any kind of metal. Only plastic swift- tack allowed.
Please revise any method of tacking to the proper way going forward.
Please confirm to follow above and any input /ideas to correct this problem will
be much appreciated...Any questions about packing prior to shipping can be
addressed to Elsie Bautista or Richard Haddad.

3. HADDAD‟S CARTON REQUIREMENTS
OBJECTIVE
ANY EXPORT CARTON BEING SHIPPED TO HADDAD SHOULD NOT EXCEED THE
FOLLOWING:
PLEASE USE THE CORRECT SIZE CARTON TO MINIMIZE MOVEMENTS AND CRUSHING
OF GARMENTS WITHIN CARTON.

Cartons must be sealed with a tampered proof tape (HADDAD TAPE).
All opening on all sides must be sealed with “H” Method. Additionally, cartons strength
should be a minimum of 200# or 32 ETC (Edge Test Crush) corrugated to prevent crushing
during transit. Larger or heavy cartons may require higher ETC.

INTERNAL PRODUCT SAFETY DOCUMENT # 1
a. Check if the General assessment conformity certificate is completed correctly in its entirety and
duly signed by factory management (Production Manager/ General Manager/ Quality Manager/
Product Safety manager or Owner).
b. Manufacturers must issue certificates verifying that the children's products they make meet all
requirements of all rules, bans, standards, or regulations applicable to the product under any act
enforced by the CPSC and specify each accordingly. The certification must be supported by
testing each product or by a reasonable testing program. Certification must accompany each
shipment, be produced to US Customs at the port of entry.
2. Third-Party Testing:
a. Check if required applicable Third-Party Test reports are attached to General assessment
conformity certificate. Each style must be reviewed separately for applicable product safety tests.
Following is a list of Tests covered under the federal law:
i. Lead - Snaps, Burrs, Zippers, Buttons, Screen Prints, Metal trims/ decorations (buckles)
iv. Torque and Tension - Small parts like Snaps, Burrs, Zippers, Buttons, decorations.

3. Safety Review for Third-Party Testing:
For all metal/painted goods: check if passing Lead 3rd Party testing is done.
- Evaluate the Design Sketch to see which accessories must be tested for Lead.
- All plastic buttons, metal trims and any decorations with surface coating must be tested for both
Lead in surface coating and Lead in substrate.
- All plastic buttons, metal trims and any decorations without surface coating must be tested for
Lead in substrate only.
- All lead tests must be done in accordance to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission 16
CFR 1303 Ban of Lead Containing Paint act and must state soon the report.

6. TESTING GUIDELINES
We will separate the certificates as follows:
o Certificate 1: 2 pages with all details (Haddad Imports GACC). This will be
completed by factories and uploaded to GACC website. A copy of this will be sent to
Diana with all other import/ shipping documents.
Testing Process:
All Test reports should be in ENGLISH.
All test reports should be uploaded in PDF format. Please request the labs to ISSUE the
test reports in PDF formats.
Testing should be done in CPSC ACCREDITED LABS only. Different labs may be
accredited for different tests. Please be advised that in this case, the factory has to test
the garment in different labs. For example, lab “A” may be accredited by CPSC for Lead
test only and lab “B” for Phthalates. The factory must send the garments to both labs for
specific tests. For a list of labs that are accredited for Lead in Surface paint 16 CFR 1303
test please visit http://www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/accredited.html. Factories could choose
any one of these and perform all Safety tests until CPSC accredits labs for other tests.
All test reports should have HADDAD Overseas country office as the “test requesting
client/ buyer”. The reports should not mention individual factory name.
The testing is done by style #. All Test reports must mention STYLE NUMBERS (NOT
REFERENCE NUMBERS). Please do not submit test reports for those styles whose style
numbers are not mentioned in TEST REPORT SAMPLE DESCRIPTION.
Test reports must be named based on the tests in the report. For example if the test report
has Lead and Phthalate test for 010000-023 style, please name the FILE NAME AS “Lead
Phthalate 010000-023”
In a reference number, we may have styles with different fabrics (colors). These fabrics
have to be tested separately. In this case, ONE certificate can be issued with all style
numbers mentioned on the certificate and uploaded with ALL Test reports representing all
different fabrics and other common components.
In a reference number, we may have styles with same fabrication (all components being
same) but the style numbers may be different because of size difference. In this case,
CONFIDENTIAL This report and the information that it contains Not be distributed or discussed outside the corporation Page 79
ONE certificate can be issued with all style numbers mentioned on the certificate and
uploaded with ONE set of test reports.
Please be advised that a GACC is required for all REF#s and Styles. One GACC per REF# is a MUST per shipment.
This is applicable to accessories too. If the same Ref# is shipped in multiple containers in a span of few months,
each container would need an updated GACC however applicable test reports can be same but must be
uploaded to GACC web separately for each shipment with respective GACC. GACCs are required for everything
that is shipped, including blank tees, accessories, etc.
For the testing, please refer below. All testing MUST be done in CSPC accredited 3rd party labs and
reports submitted with GACCs.
Under Torque and Tension, can we say Torque: 5 in-lb and Tension: 21 lbs.
All test reports should have HADDAD Overseas country office as the BUYER.
Example:
If a Garment has certain fabrication: two different color fabrics (Red and Blue), Snaps,
Burrs, Screen Print, Buttons and belt buckle - the tests to be done are decided as follows:
o Two fabrics – Red and Blue – Lead in Substrate for both fabrics separately.
o Snaps/ Burrs/ Buckles – Lead in Surface paint, Lead Content in Substrate, Torque
and Tension, Sharp points and edges all separately done.

batch #s especially at the end of the order quantity. In this case, please put the date
and batch # of most garments in the carton on the IC label.

Date format change and stop printing PO# for all brands:
For all brands effective immediately
Date format on all labels must change to the following format: Month is numbered “as-is”
but the 2 digit year is doubled - 1018 is for Oct 2009 (10 for Oct and 18 for 2009 - double
of 09). To make it easy, please refer to below table that gives the codes for next 6 years:
YOU MUST USE THESE CODES for production dates:
January February March April May June July August September October November December
2009 0118 0218 0318 0418 0518 0618 0718 0818 0918 1018 1118 1218

Due to many issues reported regarding printing the PO#s, we have decided to drop the
idea. Going forward, there is no need to print PO#s on tracking labels.
Going forward, since you will be printing only the “date of production” you will have an
option of either printing it on a separate tracking label or on existing care label.
If you are printing on a separate tracking label, Please be reminded that tracking label
must face inward towards the fabric of the product. The tracking label must be placed
underneath the care label as instructed earlier. The tracking label‟s face containing the
information MUST face the fabric.
If you are printing the date of production on the care label without using a separate
tracking label, then print this date below style#/ Ref# as shown

For Packaged products
Products sold with packaging that may conceal the care/ tracking label details must have the
tracking details on the packaging: products like underwear, gift sets, etc
1. The products inside the packaging (garments, accessories, etc) must have care label
and tracking information either printed on care label or on a separate tracking label.
2. In addition to this, the production date must be printed on a separate sticker. Please
follow format described above.
3. The sticker size and font size of the tracking details must be small. The sticker needs
to be placed to make it inconspicuous. This varies from product to product.

10. Photo 8 Submittal to Haddad Website by Country.
All countries are required to submit Purchase orders for approval prior to shipping.
Our goal is to process photos in 5 WORKING days. However, that means if your ship date is 5 days away,
sending us an approval request 5 days before the actual ship date may not be enough time if an approval is
returned for corrections. Also understanding you need lead time for transit to the dock or to a transit point to
make a ship date, 5 days will not cover you. Our photo process time is 5 days, not your shipping lead time.
THAT BEST WAY FOR PHOTOS TO BE SENT TO US IS IN ONE OF TWO FORMATS ACCORDING TO
OUR MIS PEOPLE.
Please remember:
ALL items going to the same store with the same reference number# (bearing same root of style#), multiple
colors, with multiple size ranges, or teams can be sent on the same photo format as long as the following are
followed.
IMPORTANT
1. The photo 8 format applies to all approvals and must be followed.
2. TEAMS - You now only need to show ONE TEAM in all sizes ranges, and 4 additional teams in variations of
the size ranges you are running. In other words one team with ALL the information and the additional teams
and the other teams in an assortment of other size ranges. We DO NOT require seeing all team information,
all cartons, etc. Just the 5 above.
3. Items in multiple colors. You now need to show ONE item in ALL size ranges with all the information and
additional colors in an assortment of size ranges that may be purchased. A total of THREE colors need to be
shown listed. To clarify - one item showing ALL size ranges and two additional colors showing selected colors
in selected sizes.
1. Carton markings (multiple photos covering the selected teams size ranges showing the size ratios.
2. Photo of Packing in carton (one picture is enough) - If packing goes to the customer you must show the
"suffocation warning" information & “H” sealed method.
3. Photo of Hanger (one picture per size range) If hanger size changes by size range, we must have a
photo. LABEL the hanger.

4. Photo of Placement of price ticket (one picture is enough)
5. Photo of Pre-pack showing size clips (multiple photos covering all sizes only if needed).
6. Photo of UPC price tickets showing the selected team and or color information.
7. Any special holograms or hangtag along with set tags.
8. Photo of cardboard inserts top and bottom
9. Photo of tissue or individual poly bag.
10. Photo of and button lock-stitching if applicable.
