This week we will start the side pattern. We will crochet 11 rounds.
The side pattern for the oval bag is a bit shorter than the side pattern for the round
bag. This makes the proportions better for the oval bag.
The pattern of the bottom does not continue in the side for the oval bag. It can even
be a bit confusing when you make the first round, because the stitches of the side
won’t always line up the same way with the stitches of the bottom. It is best not to
look at the bottom when you start with the side.
Before we start the side, we have to crochet a few stitches to change the starting
position of the round. See the highlighted part below.
Written instructions
Before we start with round 1 of the side, we have to crochet a few stitches to change

The graph on page 16 is rotated 90 degrees. I did this so the graph is as big as
possible. We want to able to
count the stitches, right?
When you are left handed, please also read the graph from right to left. If you would
read the graph from left to right the jog will not look good.
Start crocheting at the bottom right of the graph, see the red arrow. Repeat the right
part of the graph 5 times. End the round with the left part of the graph.
