YARN: Scheepjes Catona 100% cotton

2 skeins of each colour, 3 of the bordercolour


Pink Version: Colour nr: 074, 106, 128, 238, 251 and 398 (nr 128 as bordercolour)

Blue Version: Colour nr: 106, 164, 173, 247, 393 och 509 (nr 164 as bordercolour)

HOOK: 3,5 mm

dc – double crochet

chsp – chain space

spdc – spike double crochet

spsc – spike single crochet

GOOD TO KNOW

Pattern repeat 28 ch
Note that this is a baby size blanket, you can make it bigger by makeing more pattern repeats.

Every pattern repeat has a width of ca 6,5 cm if you use Catona

For example 18 repeats with this yarn will make a 115 cm width adult blanket.

PATTERN:

Ch 224 st loosely (8 pattern repeats)

Row 1: Colour nr 128.Dc in 4th ch from hook, [ch2, skip 3 , 2 dc in next ch] repeat between
[ – ] 1 time, ch 2, skip 3, *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next stitch, [ch2, skip 3, 2 dc in next stitch]
repeat between [ – ] 2 times, skip 3 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch, [ch 2, skip 3, 2 dc in next
stitch,] repeat between [ – ] 1 time , ch 2, sk 3,* repeat between * – * 6 times, (2 dc + ch 2 +
2 dc) in next stitch, [ch 2, skip 3 , 2 dc in next stitch] repeat between [ -] 2 times. Turn.
2: Colour nr 128. Ch 3 Working in the ch from the beginning row *2 spdc in the middle from
the 3 skipped ch, [ch 2, 2 spdc in the middle from the 3 skipped ch] repeat between [ – ] 1
time, ch 2 ,(2 dc + ch 2 + 2 dc in the chsp in the top) [ch 2, 2 spdc in the middle from the 3
skipped ch] repeat between [ – ] 2 times, skip 4 dc (the valley), 2 spdc in the middle from the
3 skipped ch* repeat between * – * 6 times, [ch 2, 2 spdc in the middle from the 3 skipped
ch] repeat between [ – ] 1 time, ch 2 ,(2 dc + ch 2 + 2 dc in the chsp in the top), [ch 2, 2
spdc in the middle from the 3 skipped ch] repeat between [ – ] 2 times, skip one stich, 1 dc in
top of turning ch. Cut Yarn and change colour.
3: Colour nr 251. Ch 3 in the last dc on previous row. Working into center of the 2dc groups
of row 1. [2 spdc in the center of next 2dc, ch 2,] repeat between [ – ] 2 times, *(2 dc + ch
2 + 2 dc in the chsp in the top), [ch 2, 2 spdc in the center of next 2dc], repeat between [ – ] 2
times, skip 4 dc (the valley), [2 spdc in the center of next 2dc, ch2 ] repeat between [ – ] 2
times* repeat between *-* 6 times, (2 dc + ch2 + 2 dc in the chsp in the top, [ch 2, 2 spdc in
the center of next 2dc], repeat between [ – ] 2 times, dc in the top of turning ch. Turn.
4: Repeat row 3, Cut Yarn and change colour.

5 and 6: Colour nr 398. Repeat row 3, Cut Yarn and change colour.

7 and 8: Colour nr 074. Repeat row 3, Cut Yarn and change colour.

9 and 10: Colour nr 238. Repeat row 3, Cut Yarn and change colour.

11 and 12: Colour nr 106. Repeat row 3, Cut Yarn and change colour.
Repeat the colour changes 5 times, finish with 2 rows of colour nr 128, dont cut the yarn.

Border: Continue with colour nr 128 both the rows in the border

Row 1

Upper Edge: Ch 1. *[1 sc in next 2 dc, around the chsp on previous row you do 1 sc + 1
spdc in the center of the 2dc group on the row below + 1 sc], repeat 2 times, 3 sc in the top
chsp, [1 sc in next 2 dc, around the chsp on previous row you do 1 sc + 1 spdc in the center of
the 2dc group on the row below + 1 sc] repeat 2 times, skip 2 dc* repeat across, 2 sc in the
last stitch.
Side: 2 sc in every “turning chain” along the side (see picture below) 2 sc in the last stitch.
Lower Edge: 1 sc in every ch, in every “top” make 1 sc + ch2 + 1 sc, in every valley you
skip 2 stitches. 2 sc in the last stitch

Side: Same as the other side

Row 2

Upper and Lower Edge: 1 sc in every stitch, 3 sc every “top”, skip 4 stitches in every
“valley”

Sides: 1 sc in every stitch

Cut the yarn and sew in all ends
