Read and analyze the situation below. Then, answer the questions or perform the task that follows.

You are designing a poster for a that contains a message or a quote that inspire people. The poster includes a text or an
enlarged photo. The original photo was 11.5 inches by 8.5 inches wide. The dimensions of the enlarged photo are x more
than the dimensions of the original photo. Also, you want additional space at the top and bottom of the poster, each with a
height of 5 inches.

Consider the following:

1. Write a polynomial expression in terms of x for the length and width of the poster.

2. Write a polynomial equation in terms of x for the area of the poster. What is the area of the poster?

3. Compare the area of the poster when x = 10 to the area of the poster; when x = 5.

Rubric for the Poster:

Points Descriptor
50 The design is comprehensive and displays the aesthetic and originality aspects of the mathematical
concepts learned.
40 The design is presentable and makes use of the mathematical concepts.
30 The design is presentable but makes use of a little of mathematical concepts.
20 The design is not presentable and does not makes use of the mathematical concepts.
10 The design is not presentable and does not make use of mathematical concepts.
Rubric for the Questions:

Points Descriptor

correct final answer is obtained.
40 The problem is correctly modeled with appropriate mathematical concepts partially used in the solution,
and the correct final answer is obtained.
30 The problem is not properly modeled with other alternative mathematical concepts used in the solution,
yet the correct final answer is obtained.
20 The problem is not totally modeled, a solution is presented but with incorrect final answer.
10 The problem is not modeled, no solution and answer were not presented
