Cross Checking the Quantity Accuracy in a BOQ

 Using summary page of a BOQ to check the accuracy. Eg. Cost percentages of each element
in relation to the total cost can be compared with past similar nature projects and if there is
any huge deviation then the deviated particular element can be cross checked in detail.
 Comparing square feet rate for current project against a past similar project after making
necessary alterations to suit the current project in terms of time, location etc
 Using check list – this check list consist a list of major elements of building projects. this
check list helps to avoid error due to omission or double counting of elements

Elemental Cross checking Method

 Excavation Quantity = Filling Quantity + Disposal Quantity
 Ground floor Concrete Bed Quantity = DPM area x Concrete bed thickness
 Anti - termite treatment area = GI Mesh for Ground floor Concrete Bed
 Anti termite treatment < Topsoil Excavation
 If DPC thickness ≤ 300 mm,
Excavation Quantity = DPC Qty x Foundation Width x Foundation height
 Reinforcement Quantity (Kg) = Concrete Volume (m3) x Factor (Kg/m3)
 Beam – 175 -200 Kg/m3
 Column – 110 -125 Kg/m3
 Ground floor Slab – 35 – 40Kg/ m3
 Lintel – 50 x 60 Kg/ m3
 Floor slab – 80 – 110 Kg/m3

 External Wall Plaster Qty = External wall Qty

 Internal Wall Plaster Qty= Internal wall Qty x 2 + External wall Qty

 External Plastering Qty= External Painting Qty

 Internal Plastering Qty = Internal Painting Qty

 Floor Finishes Qty < Ceiling Finishes Qty ( if there is sides of Beam)

 DPM Area = Floor Finishes area

 Water proofing area of toilet = Toilet wall/ floor area

 Roof area > Floor area
