Event Synopsis
The scene happened at the left hand side chemistry lab, 2nd floor of the main building. The
victim's body was found wearing a PE uniform and a white shorts lying face up on the floor,
between 2 of the tables in the lab. His shirt’s left collar was pulled down showing a wound on his
left clavicle area. On the table beside him, some related objects can be found , a notebook opened
with a pen inside, one of the pages shown is written almost full paged. Besides the notebook, there
was an experimental tray with a scalpel and a blade inside the package, 2 empty paper cups were
placed not very far away from the notebook, a bottle labeled “Percocet Extended Release” with 4
tablets inside, and some blood stains on the corner of the table. Beside the table, there were 2
footprints face towards the exit door away from the victim’s body. There were 3 drops of blood
between the footprints and the table.
Floor
- A person wearing PE uniform with short without shoes
- 2 footprints and 3 small blood stains
Table
- few small blood stains (7-8 cm diameter across the stains)
- 2 paper cups (nothing inside)
- A bottle with 4 medicines
- A notebook with some notes with a pen

Interviews Conducted:
When the police knew that there was a murder we suddenly rushed to the area of incident
to restrict the area for our team to investigate the crime. Our team collected as much evidence as
we could. We took photos of the crime and documented all the information. From what we can
find, some tests can be examined to help find the murderer.
- There were fingerprints left from the scene, which could be used to find the fingerprint test
to compare to each suspect’s fingerprint.
- The blood samples we collected were used in the DNA test. By using gel electrophoresis
to compare the bands of DNA in the scene and suspects’.
- We also measured the estimate height of the suspects from the diameter of the blood
droplets. As we dropped several samples of blood from different heights.
- We also took a drug test by using the indicators to see whether he died from the drug or
not.
- We also collected the size of the footprints left in the scene as well as the length of the
strides to find the estimate suspect’s height.
- We also measure the estimated time of death by calculating from the room temperature and
the body temperature of the dead body.
- After we knew three suspects, we went to interview them.
In addition, we had interviewed the suspects and the doctor of the victim's body for possible useful
information. We gathered and discussed every evidence and clue to find the final conclusion of
the murderer's identity, methods and motivations.
Test Results
We use charcoal lightly on the object that should have fingerprints on it to scratch and
smooth the object to reveal fingerprints then used tape to collect the fingerprints out of the scene.
Both victim thumbs are identical in DNA pattern lines and sizes while the other left thumb is
different in size and pattern. After collecting the data, we get different fingerprints at the scene,
the fingerprint that we assume to be the closest are the left thumb of suspect 1, the right index of
the suspect 2, and the right thumb of the victim. However, the fingerprint could only be examined
by using naked eyes and the figures are not clear enough, so the evidence can not be the essential
one.
Test: Tracks & Dropped
We test the drop of the blood from different heights from 10cm to 2m. Doing this will help
us identify and tell how tall the suspect is. Although, this test cannot be used due to error in the
experiment, causing the conclusion to be unreliable. As from the conclusion of every drop, the
height of the suspect can be in various heights, which is questionable. (The data is not accurate
but)
From the DNA samples that we gathered, we use it to test the DNA by using the gel-
electrophoresis, then we can compare the same pattern of DNA in the blood as everyone has unique
patterns. There are samples from the victim, suspect 1, suspect 2, and suspect 3. Matching with
the blood samples on the floor, on the table and near the door. From the comparison of the
similarities of the DNA patterns. The results are the blood on the floor and on the table match with
the victim's blood. And the blood near the door matches with the suspect 2, Wawa.
Test: Forensic Toxicology
This test requires the use of the indicators and chemicals. The final color of the chemical
in the tube represents the positive result, so we can conclude that the victim consumed drugs
(Percocet Extended Release).
From collecting the evidence, the [Stride length = (m)(height) + b] equation is applied to
figure out the height of the killer. The person has a shoe size of 27 cm with a stride length of 80
cm. The data is plotted into the Logger Pro graphing program. By using this equation, the results
come out that the height of the killer is about 155 cm. However, the stride length is not reliable in
this case as the murderer could have a different stride length from normal because of being hurry
away from the scene. So the data that we can look at is the shoe size, which the record tells us that
the killer has a height between 1.53 - 1.63 meters. The suspect that has the closest height is suspect
2, Wawa.
Investigation Results
From the result of all tests, the only suspect that has been mentioned through the test is
suspect 2 (Wawa). Who is linked to the DNA fingerprint test and the footprint size test. The DNA
fingerprint test tells us most of the clue of this case, first thing is that the case is surely a murder
as there is blood sample that belongs to 2 person, 1 from the victim and the other from the suspect
2. We can assume that before the murder, there is a fight between the victim and the murderer that
cause both of them to bleed, which results in leaving the blood stains. The second test of measuring
footprint is connected with suspect 2 height of 1.52 m. as the test said the victim has the height of
1.53 - 1.63 m. It becomes easier as the other suspect has a significantly different height from the
range of the test result, suspect 1 of 2.00 m. and suspect 3 of 1.77 m.
The blood drop and the fingerprint test could not be used because the information and
examine process is not reliable enough. The forensic toxicity test and the doctor interviews give
us clues that the victim used his drug (Percocet Extended Release) before he was dead. But this
information could not be linked to any other evidence.
We can assume that the suspect 2 (Wawa) is the murderer. From the DNA fingerprint test,
the location of victims blood is near the body of the victim and the blood of Wawa is near the door
which is the exit from the scene, plus the footprint of the murderer is heading to the door. From
this information we can say that she had a fight with the victim, which caused some open wound
to her and the victim. The victim bled, leaving some blood stain on the floor and on the table before
she quickly walked away from the victim and then dropped some blood before leaving the room.
From the interview conducted and the note written by the victim, we know that the victim and
Wawa were having some harsh conflict about the relationship and the money that the victim lent
from her. Compared to the possible motivation of killing of the other 2 suspects, she has the most
probability of deciding to kill the victim.
The report said that around 6 a.m. there is a disturbance which has the most probability to
be the fight between the victim and the murderer. Then around 7 a.m. the murder happened,
according to the Hot Air & Bouncing Back test that said the victim died at this time. Then at 8
a.m. the workers started to arrive at the place and found the body of the victim which led to the
last disturbance report and the police arrived at 8.15 a.m. Another evidence that proves suspect 2
is the murderer is that she is right-handed and the wound of the victim located at the left side of
the chest, corresponding to the right handed suspect stabbed the victim to the left chest. According
to the DNA fingerprint result, there is blood belonging to suspect 2 in the room, but the interview
conducted from suspect 2 said that she was running alone at that time. Which make no sense,
therefore she is lying.
According to these test results and evidence, we can say that the murderer of this case is
definitely Mrs. Kittiya Rittilertnapa (Wawa).
