Appreciation Lesson – on designed to lead class, to understand, and enjoy something

 one does not appreciate he does, he does not understand it or enjoy it


 learner easily understand or get the lesson enjoys it & hence appreciate it

Literature- textbooks contains beautiful poem & stories
 Teacher’s work is for learners to understand what he read and enjoys it
Music – sense of rhythm is innate and appreciation is accustomed to
Nature – nature is bounded beauty and people go through it w/ unseeing things
* Teacher encourages the learner to look & listen means observing, investigating,
reporting, recording, & appreciating
Arts & Paintings – visits of museums & exhibit acquisition of learners to learn
the rhythm, proportion, & symmetry of paintings & sculptures
Religion – life of Christ is full of beautiful insights & inspiration
*Some of the practices are used in Christian faith but others are misunderstood
 Culture – What to do in doing things, system of values, conduct of people
*Teachers acquaint learners of these practices & appreciate that should be preserve

 Aesthetic appreciation – artistic & inspiring,
Enjoyment on experiencing something beautiful gives aesthetic appreciation
*Feeling – predominant aspect in aesthetic
 Ethical-Social appreciation- satisfaction in recognizing social & moral
goodness/truths
Type of appreciation necessary for ethical character & good citizenship
 Technical or Intellectual appreciation- stems of admiration of technique

Need for Supervised study lesson


1) Failures & dropouts in school due to poor study habits & lack of concentration
2) Learners in home that do not have proper study conditions like overcrowding, poor lighting , noise ,
& too many distractions

Techniques of supervised study


Success of the study depends a great deal on teacher who train & guide pupils
1) The physical setting should be conducive to study
2) The assignment should be made clear & purpose of study understood
3) The teacher & class begin right away
4) The teacher should instruct the class to skim & get general idea
5) The teacher should avoid too much assistance but always available
6) All necessary tools & equipments for study should be available
7) Learners may instructed to pause at the end of paragraph & summarize what they have read
8) Skillful questioning instead of direct help must be used to guide pupils
