Description of Chosen System:
“Eye test” application allows the user to test his eye sight and color blindness and provides other
knowledge related to vision by means of different quizzes and games.

0 - don’t agree that this is a usability problem

1 - cosmetic problem

2 - minor usability problem

3 - major usability problem; important to fix

4 - usability catastrophe; imperative to fix

Violation 1:
Issue:
No welcome page. As we open the application there is no welcome page. It provide us directly
with the tests.

Severity level: 2

Aesthetic and minimalist design.

Description:
There is no welcome page of this application hence making this not a discreet design.

Inconsistent color theme.

Severity level: 1.

Standard and consistency, aesthetic and minimalist design.

Description:
Color scheme is inconsistent as we can see there are different backgrounds on different tests.
In these both tests background color is different. In first test (Glaucoma survey) background is
in blue-gray tone where as in Amsler Gold background is white.

Application cannot be used without massive documentation.

Description:
The terms used are too complex. To use them there is excessive documentation given. User
need to read all instructions in order to perform a test.

Not clear what to do in some tests.

If user clicked a button by mistake there is no option for going back. For example in case of
visual activity test we cannot go back as there is no undo option. We have to perform whole
task again in case of any accidental error. In this case if we click stop by mistake it will stop the
test at this point and give user result hence not letting user continue the test .

The test is not so accurate as it produces same result every time.

Description:
Test always produces same results even if we have both eyes or any eye uncovered.

The test only offers two color background.

Description:
In case of visual acuity, the test only offers black and white background. If people are not able
to see these background it will become difficult for them to use the app.

The color blindness test requires user to click on the picture displaying on screen in order to
select an option.

Description:
If the user doesn’t click on the picture the test will not proceed and it is not even displaying a
message to click on the picture. It only indicates this in instruction before the test which most
of the people generally skip.

In description of amster grid, instead of your ‘you’ is written which creates confusion and
effects the aesthetics of the design.

It doesn’t give any remarks and suggestion, allow the user to save the results in gallery and nor
