Philippines is now experiencing a lot of drug- related incidents. Crime here, death there.

We are well
aware of why is this happening. Crimes & deaths have basis which we know that this is all because of
what we so called 'drug addiction'. This addiction is what we are scared about because many crimes
happened and many lives where taken away. When our current president, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
had to take over the position 'Drug War' happened. His goal from the very beginning is to stop people
from using drugs which we all know that it is close to impossible. People were addicted and they can't
easily let go of themselves from that addiction. When we watch television news, drug issues are always
present. We can't deny the fact that the President had a lot to go through to make his goal possible. In
reality, we have moral dilemmas so as the President. He had the ability to decide and act on it because
he knows that most of the crimes happening is because of drugs. So he does, he then decided on what
to do and what's the best for the people and for the peacefulness of our country but sometimes things
don't go well as what we've planned. We are aware that his motive is to save our country from drowning
in drug addiction and to save the people who don't deserve to be maltreated by the addicts. His plans
were not as successful as it should be because many lives which deserves to live were taken away. During
the operations so-called 'TokHang', innocent people were involved. Unfortunately, their lives where on
the line during those times. The family of the victims were so angry because of what the result of
President Duterte's goal. The goodness of the President cannot be denied because he wants our country
to be safe but sad to say there were also innocent people died. When you see at the bright side of the
situation, I believe that our President had done consequentialism. When you look at the bigger picture,
our society had change. It became more accessible and safe to live. I can say that because I witnessed
the situation of our barangay. Many in our place were drug addicts and I was scared because during
those times I felt not so safe. You can feel the aura of the surroundings that it is not the safe place to live
but when President Duterte had those operations, I am so happy because the drug addicts I used to
know had change their lives and chose to become a better person but at the same time I was also sad
because of the innocent victims who died because of the operation. I can say that our President believed
consequentialism because despite of the actions he did to stop drugs the consequences are visible which
helped the Philippines to become a safe country and due to that his actions were considered as morally
good. He did what he believed was right which is for the sake of the people living in our country even if
he knows that there will be innocents involved. A lot of people were mourning because their families
died due to the operations but we should be grateful for what the President had done for our country.
He changed it. He acted on it. He was so brave to face those death threats. Our current situation in our
society is the reflection of the action of what the government had done for the people. They did
everything to save our country from those addicts. That's my opinion and I believe that now, we can live
in a safe and peaceful society where we can have a better life and a brighter future.
