This document provides instructions for a Spanish fashion show project due on November 11th. Students will have a pass to leave class during the morning to prepare their outfits. Students will be graded on including at least 4 clothing items, correctly describing 5 items in complete Spanish sentences, legible writing, and proper spelling/grammar. Spanish 1B – Señora Vélez We will be having a fashion show in Spanish class on Friday, November 11th as a review of the clothing vocabulary you have learned in this short unit on clothing and shopping.
On that day, you will have a pass from me to show your teachers for the first half of the day. However, you MUST be back in dress code by the end of 4th Period.
CRITERIA FOR THE FASHION SHOW PROJECT:
You must wear an outfit with at least 4 visible pieces (clothes that come in pairs count as one piece) o You can get as zany as you like with your outfit, however, it cannot be inappropriate – follow the “golden rule” for dress code: when in doubt, don’t wear it out You must write a description of your outfit on an index card for me to read while you walk the “runway” that includes the following things in Spanish: o An introductory sentence. “(Your name) está llevando _________” [Your name is wearing) o Which “designer” made the clothes (You can make up your own fashion name, or use the actual designer) Ex.: La ropa está hecha por (name of designer) o A description of each visible item that includes: A description of the item that says what the item is What it is made of using hecho or hecha de and the fabric or material The color or pattern of each item Make sure that your adjectives match the gender and number of what you are describing o A description of the outfit (Ex.: It’s fashionable/beautiful/ugly/old, etc…) o YOU MUST USE COMPLETE SENTENCES IN SPANISH!
