In Natuna there are several blocks including the East Natuna Block,
Natuna D Alpha Block, and the Masela Block.
The Natuna Islands have the largest natural gas reserves in the Asia Pacific
region and even in the World. In the belly of the earth also covered in oil.
The largest gas field in Indonesia is in block D Alpha or now called east
natuna block. This block is located in the northern concave around Pulau
Laut, Natuna Regency.
The Natuna D-Alpha block is a gas and oil block which holds around 500
million barrels. The total gas potential is estimated at 222 trillion cubic
feet, and this is the largest reserve in the world that will not be fully
explored in the next 30 years.
Total oil production from the oil and gas block in Natuna is 25,447 barrels
per day. Then the natural gas production is 489.21 MMSCFD. This is
about 3% of national oil and gas production, which a mounts to 810,000
barrels of oil per day and 1.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day of
gas.
