1 Introduction
This Procedural Support Document describes the activities of Aircraft Storage and parking
during FRC.

The Aircraft is stored or parked during FRC, according to the Aircraft status, for following
reasons:
− Normal production Flow of the aircraft is interrupted for industrial reasons or absence
of customer.
− The TAC has been issued and customer contract is waiting for tendering Aircraft
delivery…

2 Process Principles and Definitions

2.1 Aircraft Parking in FRC

The Aircraft is preserved in FRC by periodical checks, following appropriate duration:
− 0-15 days which can be renewed (only once) if necessary.
− 0-12 weeks which can be renewed (only once) if necessary.

Note: The production aircraft is maintained in FRC whereby that aircraft can be released for
operation within 48 hours.

During parking in FRC, MPD (Maintenance Planning Document)/AMM tasks have to be

applied daily.

2.2 Aircraft Storage

Aircraft storage can be performed for periods not longer than 0-6 months or up to 24 months.
During this period, the aircraft is preserved by periodical checks.

For storage period, MPD/AMM tasks have to be applied at the end of the storage for Aircraft
return to operation.

3 Operations Description

3.1 Initiate Aircraft Preservation

If the normal production Flow of the aircraft is interrupted (refer to § 0), the program decides to
preserve the Aircraft either in Storage or parking during FRC, according to the Aircraft status.

Program Planning or Delivery Center Customer Care initiates Aircraft Preservation

Following information are mentioned in this Notification:

− MSN/Model/Version of the Aircraft
− Duration of the storage: 0-6 or 0-24 months

or Duration of the FRC: 0-15 days or 0-12 weeks

− Protection Location
− Protection Period Start Date
− Applicable Procedure (reference of the Storage or FRC Manual)
− Engine Model

Note: In case of production interruption before H/O the preservation (storage or FRC) is
initiated immediately after the decision.

In case of delivery delay (customer decision), the aircraft has to be preserved no later
than 7 days since the end of the last ground or flight checks activity.

3.2 Propose Recommendations for FRC or Storage Tasks

In case of incomplete Aircraft or need to adapt FRC/storage procedures due to the Aircraft
situation, Manufacturing Engineering (ME) is responsible to propose necessary
recommendations for FRC/Storage tasks following a deep analysis of the "as is" state of the
individual Aircraft.

3.3 Validate FRC or Storage Manufacturing Engineering Recommendations

In case of incomplete Aircraft or need to adapt FRC/storage procedures due to the Aircraft
situation, MAP will analyze and give comments if needed in order to validate the proposed
FRC/storage tasks elaborated by ME.

3.4 Prepare FRC or Storage Tasks and Periodical Checks
Manufacturing Engineering prepares FRC or storage tasks and the periodical checks for
application by the Production, according to manuals

These manuals refer to AMM tasks.

Before FOT or in case of incomplete Aircraft or complete Aircraft with deviation(s), Design
Office has to validate recommendations proposed by ME

3.5 Transfer Aircraft to Preservation Location

Once the Preservation is initiated, the Operation Leader organizes with his team the transfer of
the A/C to the Preservation location.

3.6 Perform FRC or Storage Incoming Check

Quality Line Side has to perform an Inspection on the aircraft. Before FOT or in case of
incomplete Aircraft, non-applicable items will be mentioned N/A.

This must be performed before the preservation for evaluation of the aircraft condition:
− Any finding or anomaly discovered at the entry into storage has to be reported
− Any deviation to cabin installation has to be reported.

3.7 Apply Initial FRC or Storage Tasks

Manufacturing Operator and Quality Line Side will apply FRC or Storage Work Order/Routings
provided by ME. Attest entry Into FRC/Storage.

3.8 Attest Entry into FRC or Storage

The stages below provide the actions required at the entry of the aircraft in FRC/Storage:
− FRC/Storage tasks are recorded through the Work Order or directly in the TLB (post-
FOT).
− Quality Line Side records the inspection details.

3.9 Apply Periodical Checks
The aircraft has to be maintained during the Preservation through following Periodical checks:
− For FRC: 7 days (7D), 15 days (15D) and 1 month (1M).)
− For Storage: 7 days (7D), 15 days (15D), 1 month (1M), 3 months (3M) and 6 months
(6M).

3.10 Stamp Periodical Checks for FRC or Storage

Completed checks are attested in the Work Order/TLB.

The Quality Line Side completes periodically an "Attestation of Periodical Checks":

The Quality Line Side must report any anomalies discovered during the periodical checks (ex:
damages on the structure) to the Quality Operation Manager for further actions.

3.11 Manage Engines and APU during Storage

If engines or APU have to be removed during Storage, references (serial number and date of
removal items) have to be mentioned

The status for "operating hours" of the Engines and APU will be completed following the
production stages of the aircraft).

3.12 Manage Equipment during Storage

This operation is not applicable in case of FRC.

Buyer Furnishing Equipment:

After request from the customer, Contract in relation with Program Delivery Quality will
define the policy to adopt for the BFE equipment during the storage activity. In case of risk
of loss, the BFE are under the responsibility of the Production Group responsible of the
A/C.

All equipment removed, re-installed or replaced during the storage will be recorded In case
BFE equipment has been removed and/or reinstalled this area respectively the equipment (i.e.
Seats, Galley, Stowage etc.) has to be represented to the customer i.a.w. D2940.

3.13 End Aircraft Preservation
To confirm end of Aircraft Preservation, the program planning or the Delivery Center Customer
Care will provide - "End of Protection Ordering Notification"

This Notification contains the following information:

− MSN of the aircraft under protection,
− procedure to be applied (in reference to the appropriate Storage Manual),
− additional work to be performed,
− delivery date of the aircraft,
− Flight after de-storage (only if applicable).

Note: If the storage period on aircraft has exceeded the 24 months, the Quality Inspection
Department in charge of the storage has to contact the Maintenance Program
Engineering for appropriate additional maintenance requirements.

3.14 Prepare End of FRC or De-Storage Tasks

Manufacturing Engineering prepares FRC or storage tasks and the periodical checks for
application by the Production, according to manuals

These manuals refer to AMM tasks.

Before FOT or in case of incomplete Aircraft or complete Aircraft with deviation(s), Design
Office has to validate recommendations proposed by Manufacturing Engineering

3.15 Apply End of FRC or De-Storage Tasks

Manufacturing Operator and Quality Line Side will apply end of FRC or De-Storage Work
Order provided by Manufacturing Engineering.

3.16 Fill-In and Stamp the Attestation of FRC or Storage

Quality Line Side fills-in "Attestation of Storage/FRC" and provides it to the Programme
Planning.
